I went to a FS Prerelease on April 21st. There were between 150 and 160 participants. There were 7 rounds.

Shouldn't there have been 8 rounds? Is it ok for organizers to skip a round? Are there penalties for organizers who don't set the number of rounds properly?

Also, the Standings were not posted before the final round started. Same question, is there a penalty for the organizers for not adhering to what I believe are official rules for running a sanctioned event?

My record was 5-1-0 going into round 7, and I drew in the final round for the top 8. My last round opponent and I were both 5-1-1 and got 9th and 10th. The top 8 consisted of.....

7-0-0
6-0-1
6-1-0
6-1-0
6-1-0
6-1-0
6-1-0
6-1-0

What's the deal with this?! Even if I had played and won the last round, I still may not have top 8'd because one of the 6-1's wouldn't have made it. I've heard of 5-1-1's not making it, but six 6-1's in the top 8?! That's unreal.

Please reply if you have an answer for this.

I don't want to get in a flame war with you. In an ordinary tournament if the rounds had been correct it would have been fine to draw. I'm just asking if the DCI condones organizers skipping a round.

Did you win your last match? If so, congrats.
