Is Plow Under the only good sideboard card for this matchup? I'm bringing a friend to an Extended tournament and it was the deck he was the most fond of and it certainly wrecks the aggro decks and likely 5CZoo we'll see, but it loses pretty bad to my UW Tron.

Here is the deck -

4 Birds of Paradise / Boreal Druid (not sure but prob Druid)
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Watchwolf (speeds it up a little, I actually like this over Eternal Dragon)
4 Call of the Herd
4 Troll Ascetic
4 Loxodon Hierarch
2 Exalted Angel

2 Worship
2 Armadillo Cloak
2 Umezawa's Jitte
3 Sword of Fire and Ice
3 Stonewood Invocation (...you'd be surprised)

4 Brushland
4 Temple Garden
4 Windswept Heath
5 Forest
5 Plains

sb:
4 Krosan Grip
2 Umezawa's Jitte
2 I can't remember, something vs aggro i think
3 Kataki, War's Wage
4 ?

We want the last 4 cards to help with the Tron matchup..is Plow Under the best option here?

splash red for bloodmoon. play birds and 2-3 stomping grounds. searchable with the fetch land. t2 blood moon with krosan grips to deal with signets.

kataki is actually decent vs. uw tron because of there signets and talismans. It's not great but it's a start. Plow under will just get countered because it's 5 mana. Just don't play decks by Flores.

Yeah I thought bringing Kataki might be o.k.

I'm not in love with the GW deck either, but it's what I could get him to play; he's obsessed with creature pump spells and this was an improvement when I showed him Armadillo Cloak, etc.

I think I agree that this matchup is almost unwinnable, but at least Plow Under might help against Rock, etc. i.e. decks with lots of land but no counterspells.....would Chalice of the Void be a better sb card, i.e. for Aggro Loam?

In a game he's not a bad player at all; his card evaluations are just inexplicable.

The first way to become a good player is become a good deck builder.

4 maindeck ghost quarters, and add a sacred foundry and a stomping ground with some red fetches so you can play sideboard dwarven blastminers

not the deck they're talking about
theres a difference between haterator and astral slide, which does pretty good against tron (i wouldnt say it wins 100, but it's much better than haterator)

i got 2nd in baltimore,md w/ my version of gw aggro. i played 4 ghost quarters main then like kev said, i played 1 foundry and 1 stomping ground for 4 blastminers out of the board. i also played 3 seedtime which i only used twice that day. but w/ 4 ghost quarters and 4 blastminers in the board, it makes the mu somewhat better. but just try and avoid the mu all day. thats my suggestion..Smile
