Well I came across yet another problem when playing a Bat Deck Wins version of orzhov in a multiplayer game.

The scenerio was this i had a field full of creatures one of which being teysa and another being mourning thrull a known hybrid card. I went to use teysas ability to sacrifice my mourning thrull and my opponent told me that I couldn't due to the fact that I had never declared what I color I was paying when I had cast my thrull and he had assumed that I had paid B for the split color part of the cc. I had said that it shouldn't matter which color I had used because it still counts as both a black and white creature.

My question is this:

with hybrid cards does the color paid when you cast the card affect the entire color of the card or does it still count as both colors no matter what was paid for it's cc?

thanx for any help!

it DEF DEF DEF counts as both of the colors.

The game has no reason to remember which you paid and neither do you or your opponent, the cards color is defined by the mana colors in the card's casting cost and i'm sure there's some fancy new errata in the rules, but both mana symbols on the hybrid cost count as the card's color

your opponent was an ignorant jerk then... trying to rule-marshall on a terrible claim like that. Pathetic.

Thanx he has done that so many times saying that the card only counts as a black creature or a white creatutre and I went with it because he has at least 6 or 7 years experience on me and I figured he was right!

thanx for the help!
