|
|
Try putting Pariah's Shield on Stuffy Doll...
12 Mountain
2 Boros Garrison
4 Sacred Foundry
4 Battlefield Forge
4 Char
4 Lightning Helix
4 Sudden Shock
3 Orcish Cannonade
4 Stuffy Doll
4 Orcish Artillery
2 Whiptail Moloch
4 Mogg War Marshal
4 Seal of Fire
1 Pandemonium
4 Pariah's Shield
Manabase Analysis
4 gold (RW) spells and 26 red spells, of which 7 have RR in the casting cost - this translates to a red-white ratio of 33.5:4 (counting RR = 1.5R), or roughly 8:1. The non-Mountain lands should be more than able to provide the white mana required in Lightning Helix.
Rationale for card choices
Char - burns your opponent more than you, and when you have the combo up, it's more ouch for him
Lightning Helix - burn him and gain life, evil... ; the only reason why I included this was because I wanted painlands in the deck, to deal damage to myself...
Sudden Shock - a nigh-uncounterable 2 damage? Sign me up any day!
Orcish Cannonade - pretty much the same as Char, with card-draw thrown in
Orcish Artillery - Orcish Cannonade on a body and without the card-draw
Whiptail Moloch - "I'll have it deal damage to Stuffy Doll please...oh you took it? Thanks!"
Mogg War Marshal - early creature, potentially 2-for-1
Seal of Fire - sits there acting pretty until called into action
Pandemonium - good with Whiptail Moloch or basically any creature
| Quote: | | Things to mention... |
Playing this deck, your early game might be quite vulnerable, but once your Stuffy Doll comes in, things should stabilise a little. Throw in a Pariah's Shield, and most of the time your opponent can scoop.
Paying life to untap Sacred Foundry does not trigger Pariah's Shield because it is not damage. Remember - damage may be life loss, but life loss may NOT be damage.
And as always I'd appreciate it if you could give me constructive comments.

| The problem is that "indestructable" doesn't stop going to the graveyard as a state-based effect for having 0 toughness; so, with plagued rusalkas and last gasps floating around this deck has some problems vs. black. |
