This is my first draft at this deck. The deck construction of this deck is very difficult, delicate, and intricate... so I'm sure it's going to change alot.
Basically, it's a Toolbox deck. It uses a very powerful draw/search engine with a lot of tech cards, an adequate amount of control cards, and a win condition. This decks main win condition is Psychatog, but it can win in a number of ways.
Most Survival decks (but not all) have a hard time without Survival in play. This deck has other engines it can rely on.
Survival gives tutoring the library for creatures. Loam tutors the graveyard for lands (and fills the discard). Living Wish tutors the sideboard for creatures and lands. I have tutor creatures in the sideboard that can tutor the library for 2cc and 3cc spells. The deck can tutor the graveyard for any card with Eternal Witness. I can tutor the graveyard for creatures with Genesis. The deck has a solid draw engine with Confidant and Brainstorm.
The bigger cc spells with Confidant really isn't much of a problem. The Bottle Gnomes can regain lost life and there are ways to kill off Confidant's if necessary. |

this deck will be too slow for the format, and is nothing without SotF. play full english breakfast or the RG version of survial.
but, its only my opinion...
good luck |

bottle gnomes is pretty bad and isn't worth the slot and 4 life from the loam is a lot. sideboard is a mess too. i would use a better wish target sideboard instead of your random cards like bone shredder or dust bowl or the tabernacle at pendrell of something something vs goblins...
in summary, this deck probably won't beat gobos, because of the lack of 1-drops, threshold, or life.dec. the tog addition is interesting but just won't cut it. |

3 Troll Ascetic
1 Smother
2 Darkblast
4 Cabal Therapy
2 Pithing Needle
The deck was originally designed to be a toolbox deck. This is what I came up with for a more competitive version of the deck. It's not the greatest deck but I've seen Loam-a-Tog decks work fairly well and I think the addition of Survival and Confidant strengthens it. |
