| my friend and i live in the same area and use the same internet provider. I asked him to send me his ip address, he does and i try to call him. It doesnt work, then i notice that the ip he gave me is the same as mine. Is there a way to fix this? |

the fact that you have the same ISP probably has nothing to do with it. You're probably just using internal IPs and not the real one. Does it begin with a 192? if so, its wrong.
Go to www.whatismyip.com to get you real ip. |

local ip's are also starting with 10.x.x.x and 172.16.x.x
the one laplie sugested start with 192.168.x.x
u would have one if u are sharing an internbet connection through a LAN.....
the isp....should provide u with standard net ip...not locals....
Local ip's can't host games unless for a gamein the same lan...or unless the pc has a forwarded port from the server managing the internet connection |
