Me and a few friends play this format I call "Junk Draft". I bought about 1500 random common cards, and break them into boosters, 2 cards of each color, 2 artifacts/gold/nonbasic land cards, and 3 random cards. Then we draft them. The cards are recollected afterwards. the cost for entry is like $2 or 60 common cards. I suggest some of your playgroups who like drafting but are not into constantly buying cards (yeah, us cheapskates) should try it.

LOL. Peasant Draft.
Yeah. Me and my friends do something similar when we are bored and need something to do. Minus the $2 part.
We just gather a bunch of random cards, split them into boosters (15 cards) and draft them. It's a good way to pass time when you've got plenty of it.

My friend bought a box of random commons and we just threw a whole bunch of commons in a pile by color mixed them up then drafted them. It was hella fun.

I rebuild packs for my friends to do draft free plays with. Probably just because I like drafting that much.

I charge the $2 simply to get more cards for the draft, not cause I'm THAT cheap. Just wanted to clear that up.
