Which is better of the two for BGW Control, if you only have 4 spots open in your deck? I personally like Kokusko, but I've heard Yosei pop up, here and there. Which is better? Or should you run 2 of each, or what? What's your opinion?

| As an aggro player, I'd much rather see Yosei across the board from me than Kokusho. 10 life is worth more than a turn more often than not. |

Thanks for your input Dr_Moo. interesting way to put it, if you were an aggro player. what do the rest of you guys say, from either an aggro or control viewpoint? I'm guessing control wouldn't want to see yosei, and aggro wouldn't want to see kokusko. metagame-wise, what would you guys think is best then? thanks for your input

| as the metagame at the moment is filled with aggro I think it would be better to maindeck kokusho and if you have enough space in the SB put some yoseis in there against control |

It'd help a lot if you posted the rest of you decklist as well.
Because, obviously the other cards you picked make an influence.

Personally, I would say Kokusho.
Let's analyze this. Yosei is only good in two situations
1. If you can abuse Yosei's ability (Like Greater Good decks do).
2. You play him when you having increasing pressure on your opponent (Like Ghazi-Glare).
Having him just as a 2 of to randomly draw isn't that effective.
Now Kokusho is different.
Aggro doesn't want to see you gain any life because it can sometimes put them back a bit. Also, versus Control and sometimes aggro, the longer Kokusho is allowed to be on the field and attack, the more dangerous it becomes because at a point the opponent will lose if they kill the Kokusho. Also, playing 2 Kokusho to deal 10 damage to opponent is always fun.
My opinion would be just to play 4 Kokusho.
Note: It sometimes may not be bad to play 2 of each to avoid being put back by a Cranial Extraction. |

well, if you really want my decklist, here it is:
4 Birds of Paradise
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Loxodon Heirarch
4 Kokushko
4 Dimir House Guard
2 Grave-Shell Scarab
4 Wrath of God
3 Putrefy
3 Mortify
3 Phyrexian Arena
1 Cranial Extraction
1 Faith's Fetter's
4 Temple Garden
4 Overgrown Tomb
4 Godless Shrine
1 Miren, of the Moaning Well
3 Vitu-Ghazi
3 Forest
2 Plains
2 Swamps
SB:
3 Cranial Extraction
3 Sacred Ground
3 Naturalize
2 Faith's Fetter's
2 Eradicate
1 Persecute
1 Splinter
Now, with this decklist, what would be better: Kokusko, or Yosei? I have 10 removal spells, so is that enough vs. aggro, or is Yosei better needed? Let me know what you guys think. And do you think the Scarab's are needed, as a win condition that just won't go away, or what? Let me know what you guys think, thanks
Jason

| I think 4 kokusho and 2 yosei is the normal, for this sort of deck. |

I would prob go with a house guard and a putrefy something like that.
Is playing bop and wog in the same list a good idea? wouldnt reach or somehting be better. |

| Get the Birds out of there. Farseek, Wood Elves, and Kodama's Reach would all be better (they don't die to Wrath, or if they do, the mana boost stays anyway). I don't know that you need either, though. I'd try to fit in more Fetters, which I think is even better than both Mortify and Putrefy in most matchups. A 4th Arena would be good as well. I love the Scarabs, also. I think it might be the single most underappreciated card in t2. They fall only to Hinder and turn most other attempts to stop them into card-disadvantage. 2 seems like a good number, because other creatures are better early and mid-game and you rarely want to see more than one. |
