Guile does the following (example)

You have Guile in play. You also have 2 Islands in play.

Your opponent casts a Grizzly Bear. You tap your islands and cast Counterspell.

Now usually the Grizzly Bear is countered and put into your opponents graveyard. Guile however kicks in and lets you cast that Grizzly Bear for free. In the end, you get your opponents Bear under your control by having countered it.

Sounds like you are reading Guile's ability wrong. His ability doesn't do anything to the cost of your counter spells, it only allows you to play the cards that you are going to counter free of cost.

Also, you can't counter a spell twice. You can cast 2 counterspells on the same spell, but after the first counterspell resolves the second one will just fizzle and go to your graveyard without countering anything because it doesn't have a target anymore.

You can tap a wizard, await your opponents response and if he pays, tapp another wizard and ask to pay 1 again.

You can play manaleak, wait until he pays 3, then play another Mana Leak.

Oh yeah sorry I didn't realize you were referencing Rune Snag, I was talking more about the card Counterspell where pretty much no matter what it is going to get the job done.

You can cast as many counters as you want on the same spell.

play it with nethervoid and play everything for free???
Not really. no. If somebody plays something and then is stupid enough to not pay 3, you can cast it for free with Guile, yes. But Nether Void just triggers again when you cast the spell with Guile and you end up having to pay 3.
