I'd look into kiln fiends, and lower cost burn spells. the RX spells are often too slow, as in a good burn deck, you are looking for a turn 4 or 5 kill. Fireblasts are also a relatively cheap and powerful card. Lava spike is another 1 mana 3 damage spell. Pingers such as the pyromancers generally don't hold value in a burn deck. Jackal pups make great 1 drops. For just solid burn, I actually like Quest for Pure Flame as a finishing card, but it seems very few people like that card.

If you have money, flame rifts or browbeats can do a lot.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge at this point, but what does RX mean?

And what would you say is the rarity of those cards? I don't have any of them except for one kiln fiend...

RX refers to spells that cost R and X, like the X in value in Fireball and Blaze.

OK, but the whole point of the RX cards was to be a finisher, or a punch in the face to something problematic. If I took them out, what would fulfill that role?

Fireblasts make excellent finishers.

Kiln fiend is a common from Rise of the Eldrazi.

Fireblasts were a common from visions, which is an old set, but since you had a chain lightning, I thought you might have other old cards around. Lava spike is a common as well, from champions of kamigawa.

Other good and cheap creatures are

Hellspark elemental
Keldon vandals.

More expensive, but awesome is

Goblin Guide.

and a classic:

Ball lightning

Fireblast is a total must in burn. 0 mana, 4 damage. Perfect finisher.
Rift bolt is another 1 mana = 3 damage choice.

IMHO flame javelin is more reliable than browbeat in mono red burn. 1 less damage, but browbeat can give the opponent a precious extra survival turn.
