I have no idea about legacy, but when i saw monilith was unbanned this was the first thing that struck me. This seemed like a sweet two card combo for infinite mana, id be surprised if theres not some decks like this at the gp. What do people recon?

4 grim monolith
4 training grounds
4 force of will
4 daze
4 enlightened tutor
4 emrakul the aeons torn
2 Ulamog the infinite gyre
4 ponder
4 brainstorm
4 preordain
4 Tundra
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Polluted Delta
4 Misty rainforest
4 Chrome Mox

Sb

4 silence
4 ethersworn canoist
4 Meddling mage
3 Spell pierce

Erm it has the : symbol on monolith to untap, so although im no rules expert, that should mean you are able to untap it for two with training grounds as its classed as activated ability?

training grounds only counts toward creatures. I though you drafted a lot of ROE?

Training grounds would be banned post-haste if it were any type of card. It would be a cheaper version of Fluctuator, for one. And infinite combo's that can be played on turn 1 very easy...

Maybe see if you can get it working with Karn's Touch or something.

Grim can already go infinite with Power Artifact. And yes, two-card combos (with neither being a win-con) are still unplayable in Legacy.

I think if you hard cast emrakul you pretty much get an extra turn and win.

the decks that try to abuse monolith + power artifact also always run metalworker and staff of domination.
staff is a good way to win with infinite mana.

unless someone has over fifteen life, that is your only creature (due to whatever complex combo that got him there in the first place), and he is about to combo off next turn anyway.
Which actually happens a lot in legacy.
