Serious cards meant for standard, single post/reply per card, your ideas only.

1UB
Exhausting Thought
Sorcery
Target player draws two cards, and then discards four cards.
In attempt to invent a new spell, the mage cast a spell to help him think, and after he became exhausted from the power of the spell, he realised he had just created it.

Baneslayer Goyf (w/g)

Firststrike, Lifelink, Haste, indestructable

Baneslayer Gofy can not be countered
Baneslayer Goyf has protection from everything
Baneslayer Gofy is unblockable

Baneslayer Gofy's power and toughness is double the combined life total of all players.

Whenever a player dealt damage by Baneslayer gofy loses the game, untap baneslayer goyf and there is another attack phase after this one.

If you do not win the game the turn baneslayer goyf comes into play god your fucking shit at magic.

Insult to Injury - U
If target opponent would lose the game this turn instead they take an extra turn after this one. At the end of this extra turn they lose the game.

Target Creature gains Doublestrike and Lifelink.
Sacrifice it at the end of your turn.

Making cards isn't just making ultra-powerful cards. You also have to make sucky cards. I'm sure everyone will want:

UU
Instant
Counter target spell
"The pyromancer gasped out in disbelief, his bolt of lightning fizzled, but I couldn't let him be aware that I was surprised, too. I thought I would NEVER be able to get that spell right."
-Ertai, Wizard Apprentice

but to be balanced, there should be:

2G
Instant
Remove target spell targetting a spell or permanent you control
"They're not so smart if you're able to surprise them. Surprise!"
- Garruk Wildspeaker, to Jace

I was once told of an ancient spell being as powerful as a Tarmogoyf and more effective then a Lightning bolt...
For years I have searched the myth of this power from beyond our Universe, I have travelled far and lived for centuries searching in vein.

Until now! I tracked the net for years on any signs of this Primal power to find this thread!

Tell me, kumagmd, where did you find your knowledge and even more important, is that the discription of a ... ... Counterspell?!!!

(rattling voice) "It must.. ..have been my destiny... ..to die once the Power returned... argh ... sigh" (last breath).

U
Lost and Confused
Instant
Counter target opponents spell, that player may play one spell from his or hand with out paying its mana cost this turn.
I would rather fight a squirrel than a phyrexian squirrel.

Jwar Isle's Hierarch

UU1

legendary creature - sphinx wizard

flying

At end of opponents turn if Jwar Isle's Hierarch is in
your graveyard you may pay WU1 to put it into play.

BU1, sacrifice Jwar Isle's Hierarch: look at the top 3 cards
of your library, put them back in any order, draw a card.

2/1

I'd love to see some oldskool blue decks make their way back into Standard. A possible finisher for such a deck is Sphinx of Jwar Isle, I made up a lackey for it wich is able to block, draw and swing for 2

it is counterspell. DUH. Read the proposed flavour text, it should give a clue.

How about an aggro hoser? We had:

MOAT (there, I put in the name of the card to benefit the ignorant)
2WW
Creatures without flying cannot attack you.

and for balance, there should be:

Pain Thresher (proposed name)
RR
Play Pain Thresher only when your opponent did not attack the previous turn.

Perhaps the most unbalanced 2-drop of all time.

If you luck out and win the coin flip, you can play this without drawback unless your opponent dropped a Raging Goblin.

If you say "only when your opponent DID attack the previous turn", you may be on to something.
