Reasonable pick, though I dislike passing mark i think it is the most under rated card in the format, it wins races and in this format you are always racing.

I read to about midway when you did not pick arrow volley trap. The card is amazing and taking tajuru archers over it is certainly a wrong pick in my opinion.

Though Arrow volley trap is not great, you certainly underrate it quite a bit
Also, have u considered Kazandu blademaster when u picked skyfisher over it? It would work well with the survivalists

Skyfisher or blademaster is very close, but I believe skyfisher was the best choice here simply because he had more landfall guys than allies at that point.

I think it was safe here to switch a nimbus wing for a soaring seacliff (nutty with the archer and multiple skyfishers, plus lifting a baloth into the air must be nice),even tho I understand having 3 CIPT can be problematic..

Oh and I agree with Trotsky on the volley trap, it's pretty bad.

Volley trap is really a strong removal, can be unexpected and even if you will be more hardcasting it than playing the trap cost it's really worth the pick!!Same is true for baloth trap,in a format where there are a lot of commons like nissa chosen 2/3 shield mate 1/4 the blue U cost krab 0/4 and a lot of 2/3 creature steppe lynx isn't THAT good early beater,i don't want to say it's bad it fit to the curve if you are lucky it will do some dmg the first 1-2 turns but you don't have fetches nor khalni gem nor harrow : it have a little sinergy only with skyfisher,a 4/4 creature with flash for 3+GG cost and if you are lucky 1+g seems quite valuable...

Yes the master, skyfisher pick is pretty close. I do not understand he makes a pick different to me I stop reading, that if anything should make you read more.

On arrow volley I find it to situational, its just been useless every time I played it at first i did think it was a bomb. Leaving 5 mana up most of the time is a big signal to anyone and most people on modo will figure it out and play in such a way that it really does not become worthwhile leaving 5 mana open every turn.

I bet tha everyone thought volley trap was very good when they saw it for the first time, then people who actually drafted the format a lot realized u don't really want removal that doesn't get rid of a blocker.

Trotsky, first let me say I really like your drafts, thank you for posting them.

Good work ditching your ob nixilis when you saw the signals.

For this draft, I agree with your skyfisher over blademaster pick. I made that same choice in a draft I did the other night (I won with RW aggro).

I also agree with your choice of steppe lynx over arrow volley trap but I don't think arrow volley trap is a bad card, it almost always gets 2 for 1 or at least trades for a creature you couldnt deal with otherwise (plated geopede, hellkite charger). It also tends to come around late and is a good 21st or 22nd card in white decks that tend to play caravan hurda or pillarfield ox to fill a deck out.

Its best in UW but I'd pick it over a number of different commons in other decks (outfitter, pillarfield ox, windborne charge, caravan hurda, molten ravager, maybe even cartographer if I was UW or GW and wanted removal)

Okay late replies but intresting ones. I probably overstated the case for arrowvolley trap. However i think cartographer is underrated if anything, him with lynx and eels and skyfishers is just so full of win.
