Back with another 4-3-2-2 lost in finals to a shockingly bad player I had an empty board and he kept attacking for less damage with one creature for exalted when any removal could fog him.

Event #: 381256
Time: 5/30/2009 12:06:41 AM
Players:
SpJones
Brentamil
oarsman

Pack 1 pick 1:

Cathartic Adept
Lightning Talons
Naya Panorama
Onyx Goblet
Obelisk of Esper
Godtoucher
--> Grixis Charm
Bant Battlemage
Behemoth's Herald
Master of Etherium
Swamp

Its this or the master of etherium both are quite narrow in terms of what decks they fit into, i think the grixis charm is actually going to be better on a consistant basis and less narrow.

this draft was full of people who didn't want to win, right?

The pack you took the scyth in ALSO had a putrid leech? Really?

That demon should never be passed more than twice, technically. It's not a card I would force into my deck but I would certainly take it over your standard 16-23rd playables and maybe splash into sangrite backlash and terminate or the like in the last pack if I could take it.

Contrary to last draft, I really like almost all the picks you made here, and am surprised you actually made some of them (terminate over the scythe is one I don't think some of the people would make. Turned out well, huh? Maybe next time you could post more of a detailed tournament report to see how everything boggled down.

I can't see a single mistake in it. You passed a late Knight of the Skyward Eye and I thought that pushed the guy on your left out of black, hence why you got extractor demon.

Then unscythe and putrid leech come around and no-one is playing black. O.o

Because you have to find fault with something: p1p13 is Demon's Herald. You send a white card (souls grace) as the last card in the pack as a signal, a black card often tells players to move into that colour.

two comments. firstly, stop drafting 4-3-2-2. I keep saying it, but you've really got to the stage where you can't improve any more by playing 4-3-2-2s (also, drafts like this will actively make you a worse player because you'll become accustomed to seeing broken cards late).

secondly, a lot of people want limited feedback these, days, it's kinda unfair for you to put two drafts up within 24 hours of each other, so I'm deliberately refusing to comment on this one.

I've got to say I think this was a pretty easy as in no hard decisions to make draft Im pretty confidant I had the best deck at the table infact Im certain of it just got very unlucky in finals.

Dv8r I am going to be drafting twice a day from now up until the end of the Modo 3 Championships qualification period as its limited this time around orignally scheduled to draft but changed to sealed still enough to motivate me to draft more as (winner qualifies for worlds of champs) , so expect more of these. I do not see how its unfair anyone who use's modo has as much oppertunity as i do to put up a draft report Im simply taking the most advantage of it.
