This card has so many abilities to kick ass. Mindmoil + Niz-Mizzet, the Firemind = Massive damage.

If you have 5 cards in hand and play 3 spells before it leaves play, that's 15 damage, and 3 fresh hands to deal massive damage with.

Not only that, teferi's puzzle box, this with compulsive research, tidings, ideas unbound, they all turn into burn for each card you draw...it's a very strong card with some counter back up.

Also it can hit the face or creatures, so it can be useful as a board wipe, and it draws cards on its own.

Yes, this card may be a bit over powered with things like the box, mindmoil, and other drawing engines...

I can't wait to see it in action, I play tested it in deck, 7th turn it dealt 21 damage on its own. In UR control deck this thing can be an awesome win condition, plus it's a 4/4 so it is a good beat stick, and a flyer no less.

i just love craze's insights on these topics

anyways i think the card is powerful in combonation with cards like mindmoil and the puzzle box however all those are very mana intesive and you are talking about a color combonation that has no mana excell. Thus you need to run counters and burn to stall till that long and hope they are not running black as there are too many ways to kill the dragon right now (Mortify, Putrify, etc)
