I wanted to know what is the best free software that I can download music on.
Limewire screwed up my computer, I need to know a safer software that is easy to use and that will not cost me any money.

shouldn't a league staff member not be contributing to illegal acts?

Almost anywhere you go in the world, downloading (or uploading) copyrighted works without the consent of the copyright holder is against the law.

The big debate with torrents (and why The Pirate Bay is legal in Sweden) is that a .torrent file isn't a copyrighted work but merely a description with pointers to who has a copy of the copyrighted work. It is illegal to host those in the US but legal in Sweden.

In both countries, it is illegal to use the torrent to share copyrighted works (without the consent of the copyright holder).

Indeed, advertizing illegal actions should not be done by a league memeber, but what ever did give you the idea that laplie was advertizing something illegal?
I know bands and artists that put their music online for free, and sharing them via torrents is lots cheaper than hosting them on their own site.
I do remember wizards sharing some video files of old championships finals via torrents. Do you think that wizards would do that if it were illegal?

Sure, what Laplie is doing might be legal, but the original poster was certainly intending to download songs illegally. Laplie is an extremely rare case of someone downloading music legally, and he is helping someone out who is planning on doing illegal things. And this is not something a league administrator should be doing.

tWo never said he wanted to dl something illegal. He said he wanted free software to download music and doesn't screw up his computer. Even "iTunes" fits that description.
