in a b/r aggro build does anyone see any weaknesses in using sudden death against seismic swans???

no, but extirpate is better at stopping the deck than sudden death is.

I'd probably play Sudden Spoiling over Sudden Death, just play it in response to Seismic activation.

whats wrong with nameless inversion its cheaper and does the same job, but sudden spoiling is definatly more techy.

nameless is alright except that if they have another land they can go off anyway but sudden death is split second and kills bigger things like gouger etc

ok cheesy pirate your right but, extirpate= much more denero than sudden death or spoiling, ludz future testing will reveal the answer to the choice you present,and gypsy answered the weakness in nameless inversion. thanks for you help everyone and if anyone has any future thoughts plz feel free to chip in

There is no weakness in using Sudden Death against Seismic Swans. As a sideboard card I presume? Nameless in Main and Sudden Death as a nice tool in sideboard. If you expect Gouger, Swans, Demigod, Divinity, Korlash and other big creatures, then by all means use Sudden Death. If you expect Reveillark decks as well, though, you would want Extirpate in there anyways, and then I think you would have to choose between Extirpate and Sudden Death, as 5-6 spots may be a bit too much dedication.

What did Seismic Swan get to make it playable? A guy played it here recently at FNM, and I think he only won one match. And that was the only time it actually comboed off. Anyone have a new list?

As for a way to deal with it, I would suggest like I suggest to so many other people with problems with opponents activations: PITHING NEEDLE. One mana. Colorless. Has a wider range of utility. Hits Treetop Villages, Mutavault, Colossus, Oona, Assault, etc.

I probrably wouldn't maindeck it, well depending on the deck, as naming a card may be tricky in G1. I know this is the age of Internet and netdecking, but not everyone plays a netdeck, or much less an exact list of a certain deck.

take the list that won aussie nats. just because some random guy didnt win fnm doesnt mean its good maybe he sucks or doesnt know how to play the deck.

Yeah, the dude probably just sucked at FNM. The swans is dominated by needle. None of the swans lists have ANYTHING to deal with it. So, they almost scoop to needle. Sure, they could swing with swans, but what deck can't handle that? Besides, this deck dies in 2 months. My buddy runs the wish sideboard. There is a swans in sb and shushers. It works pretty well.

In other news, trickbind also stops the combo for a turn... Good to have if u are playin blue. Also useful for other stuff.

attacking with swans isnt as bad as it seems. they dont have any answers md to needle except thoughtseize after sb they have krosan grip.
