| I think faerie token maker would be a much better name as it saves any confussion. With a name like bitterblossom i can just see some american trying to plant it and sue wizards when nothing grows for millions. |

"Simple" card names in Eventide (at a glance):
Flame Jab
Fire at Will
Monstrosify
snakeform
syphon life
Unmake
All the Lands
My guess is pursuing early sets wouldn't reveal many more than that. And besides, the names you listed might be iconic to you personally, but that doesn't make them honestly any more obvious in their application. Why doesn't terror make a creature unable to block? Why doesn't wrath of God destroy lands as well as creatures, or heck, all permanents?
And even Alpha, which probably has by far the most "obvious" names, has Ankh of Mishra, Benalish Hero, Copper Tablet, Crusade (seriously, shouldn't crusade read "gain control of target artifact or land?), Deathgrip (which kills nothing), Dingus Egg, Glasses (both prescription and sun!) of Urza, etc.
So I guess ultimately
1) No one can really argue with you because what you're stating is 100% subjective and therefore untestable and
2) I personally think Magic is still coming up with fine names. |
