| Not a feature, but a request. Some people (like me) still have dialup, could you please try to keep it manageable for dialup players to play? |

1.- Normal chat window and silence available.
2.- Pause buttons and kick.
3.- A way to notify the player that the draft is going to start.
4.- A way to SORT the picks, same way that is done in ID; Color, CMC, Pack.
5.- A way to add more basic lands after sideboarding, without having sec. code issues or adding random lands to add in sideboards (ID way).
6.- An auto-pause button that could be enabled when a player time out the draft or is dscd. (not relying in host's awareness).
7.- A way to random auto pair or auto seat.
8.- Keep it simple. (take ID for example, and OPT not) ID is so good at what it does and is so simple to use, that is the greatest advantage of the software.
9.- A way to use same MWS pics for the software (don't require double download of huge files of pics)
10.- A way to servers host the drafts, not relying in the host's Internet connection/speed/lag. And a way to keep the servers clean of outside users that could lag it.
11.- A timer to deckbuild.
12.- The timer of the draft, when 5- secs are on the clock, could make a sound or turn red (mtgo way).
13.- Mimic good mtgo features.
14.- Make a special channel in IRC to hold the events. (not #d4u)
15.- I might have more, if anyone is interested, contact me. |

These are responds to D4rk3z's list, but I hope everyone else reads this as well, as it has some useful general info. Numbers match D4rk3z's post.
1. This is what we have IRC for, no..?
2. It might be a good idea to give each players a credit that you could use to get 30s extension, in case someone REALLY need to take a leak.
3. Once again, this is what IRC is for. Also, tournaments will be announced just normally on site, too.
5. I believe we'll do this like it is in sealed now. That is, just auto-add 30 lands of each type into SB, and players can use them in deck building and in-game boarding.
9. Since this runs is browser, that just isn't possible.
10. This runs in browser. The site hosts the draft, the TC coordinates it.
13. 95% of us haven't even tried MTGO. Please list anything you want us to know about. |

| I'd just like to echo a few of the other statements, and comment that MTGO pretty much has the draft experience perfected online (server issues aside). Being able to see your picks through the entire draft, and sort them by color, cost, type, creature type, on the fly makes drafting so much nicer. Obviously this goes against floor rules, but wizards official stance is that they are willing to go against DCI floor policy on certain things that just arn't possible IRL, hence no IDs on MTGO now. Knowing how many creatures you've drafted without having to count is also nice. Card pictures would, of course, be amazing, though I doubt possible through a browser so that may be a pipe dream. The biggest thing is just being able to sort your picks on the fly as I said. Being able to hit a button and sort by CMC is unbelievably helpful in a draft. |

About pictures.
Probably the best way to view the card pictures is to just use the top card of the card. That way the image size is only some 2kB and you can also put them into rather small area, leaving screen space for your previous picks and such. If you rollover on the card, you will see a larger full version (some 30-50kB) of the card with card text and everything.
The problem comes with the future card face (see Future Sights timeshifted), where mana symbols are placed on left side of the card art. Low quality version of the "half card image" would be some 7kB, but 15 of them take a lot of space on the screen.
I'll probably post some GUI suggestion soon in another thread and let you people post comments. |
