3 Reflecting Pool
4 Graven Cairns
4 Sulfurous Spring
3 Mutavault
3 Swamp
5 Mountain
1 Urborg

4 Greater Gargadon
4 Dusk Urchins
4 Murderous Redcap
2 Nantuko Husk***
4 Mogg Fanatic
4 Augur of Skulls
4 Shriekmaw***

2 Lilianna Vess***

4 Thoughtseize***
2 Profane Command***
3 Grave Pact

Get rid of their creatures while trying to get Gargadon in. Redcap+Dusk Urchins have nice synergy with gravepact. Any suggestions are welcome, and i would like to keep this R/B

***Took the advice and removed ravenous rats and took out keldon marauders for nantuko husk and profane command. Does this list look better than before?

Small Pox doesn't really work that well with the deck so 4 Ravenous rats because i think its better than thoughtseize, extra sac guy mana base doesn't really support too many B starts and don't want to start at 18 life.

** Edit- Took out firespouts for 2 nether traitors

In all other decks i would think thoughtseize is rediculous except for this one.

Rats actually could be better, makes curve stronger, can get sacked. I'm not saying it is, but in this deck, it very well could be.

I like the furystroke tokens version more. You could squeeze a pact or two in that list too.

So, you'd rather play 1b target player discards a card, remove a counter from target gargadon if you have one suspended instead of B, choose which card is discarded.

"I don't want to start at 18 life". All i can say is that this must be a joke, or you have never used the card.

Overall, yes thoughtseize is the better card. But in this deck running a creature that discards and sacs to Gargadon and triggers Gravepact is the better choice. Maybe Thoughtseize in the Sb.

and guess what? thoughtseize fits this deck perfectly. it ups the amount of stuff that the deck can pull off turn 1, it gets rid of any hate the opposing deck can have, or it just slows the opposing deck down so that winning is easier. ravenous rats is just bad, even in this deck. sure, it might trigger grave pact by chump blocking vs. an aggro deck or something, but seriously. your saying ravenous rats is only decent when you have situational cards out, and there is no card draw/tutor in the deck. so your saying that ravenous rats is better in this deck than thoughtseize because it can cump block, and it can benefit 2 (eight) cards in the deck that you expect to have in play by at least turn 4 every game. thoughtseize is not a situational card, and fits and every black deck's mana curve.

if money is your problem, then just say so. cards are hard to obtain these days.

hmmm that all makes sense, but would this deck become significantly better with it in it instead of ravenous rats? Also Card draw= Dusk Urchins and Tutor= Vess.

I think you need Mogg War Marshal, it fits the deck perfectly.

Any suggestions for what creature I would take out for mogg war marshal? I considered him but all of my other creatures have a purpose and I can't find a slot.
