Been trying this out on MWS to see if it works. It's so far beaten 2 jank decks (suspend and slivers) and lost 2-1 to doran, not a good record so far but I aim to improve that.
It uses the same spiteful visions/howling mine combo I noticed further down the page, kind of hard for it to go unnoticed for too long I guess.
// Lands
4 Leechridden Swamp
15 Swamp
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Desert
// Creatures
4 Shriekmaw
1 Oona, Queen of the Fae
2 Liliana Vess
// Spells
4 Spiteful Visions
4 Darkness
4 Sudden Spoiling
4 Damnation
4 Howling Mine
4 Tendrils of Corruption
1 Sudden Death
2 Corrupt
1 Extirpate
1 Profane Command
// Sideboard
SB: 4 Bottle Gnomes
SB: 2 Deathmark
SB: 1 Pithing Needle
SB: 2 Extirpate
SB: 2 Profane Command
SB: 4 Fulminator Mage
Anyone see any flaws I'm missing? it basically aims to just keep swinging life totals in your favour whilst the opponent bleeds out. To ensure this it plays spells similar to the white turbofog decks.
Oona is just an alternate win condition in case something goes horribly wrong.
I'm thinking it should have a good matchup against the flood of elves that will pop up after Hollywood took the beating to faeries. |

Looks interesting......But I don't know if I would call it fog. Can you enlighten me?
It seems like a generic black deck with too many themes in one. In my opinion, I'd just make it a kill deck since it's half way there. Or mono black control. |

| I guess its called fog cause of 8 fog effects in the deck and draw engine for them. |

You'd be better off with a mono black control deck, that doesn't give free cards to the opponent. Fogs are not good cards.
Check the list that placed well in a trial not too long ago. |

| Change the deck completely and then don't play it. |

I have seen many decks try to win using this draw, die idea. I've attempted a few myself. The problem with them in general is that you are giving your opponents cards and that is never a good thing. In most cases all you end up doing is drawing them into answers for what you are trying to do. If you are going to give your opponent cards then you need to have answers for the cards you are giving them. In this case, your answers are either equivilant or higher in mana cost compared to what faeries, elves, or R/G aggro will play.
You have to control not only the board with this idea, but the tempo as well. It might sound silly, but maybe try splashing white for rule of law. This might help keep the number of threats you have to deal with down while prolonging the game enough to bleed them to death. |
