I just saw a thread running on scg about the top tier decks in legacy and a lots of people think that time vault should get the axe in the next restricted/banned announcement.
Link to this thread: http://www.starcitygames.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=283040
Personnally, i don't think Time Vault should get banned for 2 reason:
1st: Goblins is the best deck in the format right now, so banning Time Vault will simply shut down a contender at the demise of goblin
2nd: Those Wizard guys would not be as stupid as I think to simply kill a newly emerged deck like Flame Vault. My opinion, is that this deck is not as good as goblin and should not be killed because of simple card.

| I don't think Time Vault will get banned. I think Wizards will go more along the lines of banning of makes the deck really good. That is Ancient Tomb and City of Traitors. |

| I really doubt it, also. Vault/Fusillade is only 1 mana cheaper than Illusions/Donate, which has never really been though of as overpowered in any format. |

Well, the big difference between Illusion/Donate and flame vault is that one is using an artifact as a combo piece, which is, in my opinion, more fetchable then enchantement, and as i think so, more fragile
As for me, ill post later this night about the comments,i gotta go watch WWE wrestling with my friends |

there is no way time vault is broken enough to ban...it only used highly in one deck and that deck itself isn't that amazing...time vault doesn't effect the metagame at all..

That's why you play Time Vault first, let it resolve uncontested with no Needle or Null Rod down ...
...then you play Flame and let it resolve so you don't skip turns for no reason. |

We'll know after the GP, of course, but I think the Vault is too strong. The difference between it and Donate/Illusions is that Illusions can be disenchanted (remember "lifegain on the stack"?); if you try to Disenchant the Vault, your opponent can easily respond by killing you (assuming that they're good players, and cast Fusillade before dropping the Vault).
I don't think it's brokenly format defining, but compare it to the (banned) Earthcraft/Squirrel Nest engine, and you'll see how much stronger it is. |

Well, you can activate the time vault once...let it resolve....once....let it resolve...but if you want to do it all at once
| Quote: | | Flame vault is a good combo deck, but I think that time vault will get the ax. The reason being is that they want to make legacy affordable. That is why all the cards are under 100 bucks a piece. |
That a quote from a guy on scg, and i actually didnt though of that. Legacy is the poor man's Vintage, so the power of the card may not only be the only factor that MAY led to the ban of the vault |

Playing Fusillade before playing vault doesn't work. Continuous abilities from spells only affect things in play when the spell resolved. Compare fusillade to a card like Infest. So the vault has to be in play when they cast Fusillade, which means you respond to Fusillade being cast by disenchanting the vault.

You don't necessarily need the Fusillade to win, either...I played vs a guy in a Legacy tournament that did a Stasis- like combo involving a Smokestack with one counter, a Tangle Wire set to 4, and a Time Vault....when I had 3 lands. NOT fun at all. |

The decks not too strong. If it were just about power level, I'd consider ten other cards for banning before Time Vault, but I don't really think anything is too powerfulin the format right now.
The problem is competitive decks that cost 600$ to build tend to keep people out of the format. For that reason I think they should ban it, not power levels. |
