4 Mogg Fanatic
2 Scuzzback Scrapper
2 Vexing Shusher
4 Goblin King
4 Boggart Ram Gang
4 Boartusk Liege
2 Siege Gang Commander
4 Dead / Gone
4 Manamorphose
4 Incinerate
2 Browbeat
4 Flame Javelin
20 Mountains
This is a deck I recently put together, it works okay but it seems like it needs to be looked at. I'm not really sure what to change.
I have often thought about splicing green in for Tower Above, but I'm not really sure what I would put in in the way of creatures to support a green/red theme, I could remove the "goblin" theme, but I need some pointers.
Comments on card choices would be nice, and if there are better choices I could make, I'm open to any changes. |

Tower Above is bad, and it is only playable in monogreen because it is GGG.
Scuzzback Scrapper, Vexing Shusher, Goblin King, Dead/Gone, Manamorphose and Browbeat are all less than impressive cards. Goblin King isn't good enough to warrant only goblins in the deck, and Boartusk Liege is good in R/G not monoR.
Just find a regular RDW deck and look at what they do. |

| If you're going to use Goblin King, use Magus of the Moon as well. It really bones a lot of decks right now as well as providing you with Mountainwalk. |

Humm, I thought scrapper might work well because of the Boartusk Liege, getting +2/+2 rather then +1/+1 like a Mogg.
I've never built a Green/Red deck before, so i'm not really sure what I should be looking for. I've done a bit of research however and I'm willing to lose the Goblin theme because I need bigger bodies.
Maybe a few giants and a Deuce of Calamity, scratching the goblin kings, seige gangs and morphs.
If anyone has any suggestions for converting it to a R/G deck, please advice.
Thanks for the help so far and Thanks in advance |

R/G can go either mana ramp style or old Gruul style aggro.
Browbeat doesn't suck in a pure burn deck. It does suck in aggro decks, meaning it's not for you. In a burn deck, it either does 5 damage, or draws you average of 2 burn spells, which is approximately 4-6 damage. 3 mana for average of 5 damage is good. But not in aggro because you want to spend your turn 3 dropping a nice threat.
Manamorphose doesn't do anything. Picture the scenario where you have no cards in hand and you top deck a manamorphose or only have manamorphose in your hand. Why not just play a 2 drop instead? It's not like you need the mana fixing or the storm count.
I'd put vexing shusher on the SB. He's just a bear in more than half your match ups.
No tatturmunge maniac? it has synergy with liege and is a decent 1 drop like mogg.
I like the idea of magus of the moon. Try it out.
If you want to go the big mana approach, just look at some tourney results. |
