-4 riders
+4 magus maindeck

with all the nonbasic running around magus basically is a perma avalanch riders. the only decks running mono something are Red deck wins and Kithkin either of which riders suck vs anyways.

Honestly I think Magus of the moon is much better. Drop a resolved Magus of the Moon against a faerie player pretty much means game since they run about 3-4 basic lands.

If you can resolve it, remove soul anyone?

in addition
Faeries is only 1 match up, also elves is almost unwinnable using only magus because they can float 1B and cast nameless inversion, kithkin will have a board that will be almost all basic, but revillark and swans will need pyroclasm or firespout to stop you.

Its not like faeries don't run removal in the form of terror or nameless. You have to use common sense and bait out their mana, so when you do play it and it will be a game turning creature. And against kithkin and elf, you should have a decent matchup already with pyros and sulfurous in the board.

Honestly I dont see why people dont play magus of the moon more. Its a great card that's highly underrated.

and just out of curiosity, are there any green or red counters besides shadowmoor's guttural response?
magus/moon is way underrated if you can cast him turn 3.

Probably not in type 2, but dont run shusher or gutteral response, both are terrible t2 cards. Maybe 1 or two in the board if you're playing project X and have glittering wishes in the main
