I am new obviously. i browsed through the forum but i was unable to find something that specifically tells you what you need to do to connect or even find people.
1. I downloaded mIRC.
2. I tried the 'chat & playroom' from the website but got that null error
3. I tried connecting through mIRC. I am unsure if i did it correctly, if someone could give some brief directions on this. (to include commands also)
4. I do not know the difference between website and irc channel. what i mean is this: can you use one or the other or do you have to use both?
5. I am looking for some guidance step by step actions on how to get connected to you guys!
6. I tried putting up my own server on iDraft.(no one came of course)
7. I tried unsuccessfully to join someones server. (i didnt know any IP or anything just took the default one)
/edit
8. yes i did try the manually typing in the IP off that other post.
Thank you! |

ok heres whats been working for me. Just type /server irc.solidirc.com that should get you connected to the server. In order to add the server im mIRC do this:
Click on the options icon (second one going left to right)
In this box off to the side theres a server tab click on it
Now in the middle of the box it should have three buttons add edit and delete
Click on add
Where it says server type irc.solidirc.com
Put whatever you want for description, but make it something so you know its the magic league server
Port should be 6667 leave it as is if not make it 6667
Click Add
Now in the box at the bottom click connect to server
Once connected to server you get a pop up box just type in Magic-league there and your in the magic league channel
And there ya go. |

first off thanks for responding. I had tried that unfortunately.. here is what it tells me:
* Connecting to irc.SolidIRC.com (6667)
-
* Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)
-
* Connect retry #1 irc.SolidIRC.com (6667) (dns pool)
the above simply repeats till i tell it to stop. ex: retry #1-#15 all the same results. any other tips? |

You could also try: enterprise.solidirc.com
If that doesn't work, go google for solidirc servers and use one of them. Should and will work. |

I'm not sure about mIRC, since I don't use it (I don't like the registration thingy) I use Pidgin. Anyways, If you put the server as
78.31.71.66
it should work. Things are a bit screwy with the chat and play places right now. You can read about it here ---> http://www.magic-league.com/news/285/potential_connection_problems.html |

thanks for the help phlip45. but that server doesnt work either unfortunately. and i had already tried typing in the IP address instead of the name of the server.. no go on either.
I also tried deuce's solution to my post: enterprise.solidirc.com .. neither worked. i had looked on the internet for other reliable IRC servers nothing is working. If anyone else has a different way to connect or find people to play games with, please post them here!
/edit
there are 1000+ views and only 3 people have a possible solution? it seems that i am not the only one affected by this since there are some similar posts. Please post anything that works for you to connect so we can help the hundred or so stranded on the outside. |
