It is important that decks like this kills fast once they have established control. I am uncertain whether Masticore, Teferi, Sower and Ironfoot do that.

I've been working on a U/W control list for a bit. Here's my latest build:

3 Guile
2 Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir
2 Venser, Shaper Savant
3 Mulldrifter

4 Oblivion Ring

4 Ancestral Vision
3 Wrath of God

4 Rune Snag
3 Remove Soul
3 Faerie Trickery
4 Cryptic Command

4 Adarkar Wastes
2 Nimbus Maze
4 Mutavault
3 Calciform Pools
8 Island
4 Plains

Sideboard
========
1 Teferi
1 Wrath of God
2 Teferi's Moat
3 Aeon Chronicler
3 Condemn
3 Sower of Temptation
2 Pithing Needle

I'm still not certain whether this archetype is the correct approach in the current meta, but it has solid game against the pure aggro decks. Rogues (w/ discard) and Faeries (aggro-control w/ Bitterblossom), would be your toughest matchups, and I'm not sure of the sideboard tools to beat them.

I think you play too many oblivion rings they are great but they don't answer man lands and they are actually bad against reveillark decks, because they will bounce them and putting them on reveillark is suicide, I have to agree that you're win conditions are too weak teferi in the current meta is not tier 1 anymore, he is too irrelevant when most decks are going to bash you in the head, i would suggest putting 1 more wrath in main and placing traditional pickles lock, hoofprints might be fun too, but then again might be too slow.

Some decent comments here. Condescending remark aside, I like the idea of 1x Sacred Mesa main, 1x side.

Teferi is absolutely relevant in this archetype regardless of the meta. He lets you play your win conditions without tapping out, and really makes life difficult for Project X 2.0 (their only outs are a hardcast Cloudskate, which should never resolve against you in the first place, or add additional bounce).

All that said, I think p_dadi brought up the best point with the man-lands. They are all over the format, and can only really be answered by combat tricks or bounce. This alone probably keeps the Wrath/Permission style control decks below Tier 1. It's hard to play in T2 if you can't beat Treetop Village.

Pithing Needle MD is a fine option its hardly ever a dead card and it was what wafo-tapa did at worlds and it seemed to work for him.

You see wrong.

All of them can be blocked all day long. Of course, if Masticore manages to kill all the opponent's creatures, then it is fast. But it won't.

Guile, Akroma and Sacred Mesa are the kill options of choice in UW control. Masticore is mainly standing there as a blocker, unless the opponent is playing UB Faeries or Rogues of course. Then he is worthless.

I think the one needing knowledge here is you.
