So the last PTQ in my area which is being held in Miami is coming up in a week, and I'm stuck between two decks, Tog w/ loam n darkblast main, or Balancing Tings w/ gargadon/brushhopper/draco/explosion, only problem is the Orlando PTQ Dredge was everywhere, and it'll obviously be one of the popular decks seeing it takes almost no skill to play, breakthrough ftw 2nd turn like everyother game...
So I need advice on what cards to play against it, or if i should change decks based around the fact that dredge will be everywhere, and losing game 1 every other matchup is kind of annoying...

| dredge is harder to play than you give it credit for, if your really worried about it just play extirpates, or md hate. |

Your first mistake is your thinking of dredge as an easy deck to play. It isn't. The cards the beat dredge have been the same all season, I am sure you know what they are. Mogg Fanatic, STE, EE all beat there A plan. Extiprate kills all of there plans along with Crypt, Leyline, and Jailer. Pick a couple and go with it. I suggest playing 6+ cards of dredge hate in your sideboard if you want to beat them. |

Leyline, Tormod's, Mogg Fanatic (which isn't a shut down but can help if you're smart about when to sac).
And Dredge isn't a retard pilot. Sure anyone can make it work but to pull out a win once someones dropped a Leyline or a Crypt does require skill, as well as knowing when to Mulligan and what to do when you have no Imp or Careful Study or Breakthrough in your draw. |

| About 80% of poeple inn this league made mistake vs me when I'm playing dredge... I bet guesse that no one know how the deck work really. Exept me and shiva, I didn't see alot of dredge deck of worked and this is because poeple don't know how to play it. |

Not really hard to play.
I just need 3 games, made mistake during them, and after that kill 90/95% of the time turn 2 or 3.
I'm agree that it needs like 10 games to know what to do vs leyline or tormod's ( i think tormod's is more annoying than leyline). But nothing as hard as people describe here.
just goldfish 5 games, then simulate at least 10 games with side vs tormod's and leyline at same time in opponent deck and u should know what to do after that.
If your meta is full of dredge play goblins. |

i think you know nothing about the deck but itīs perfect that there are so many players like you because they play dredge 5 times and think "oh i know how the deck works it isnīt so good i board only 3 teegs" and then the real good players with the dredge deck , which is realy no easy deck to play, win the ptq |

u might think i play the deck 5 times only. that's false i've never said that.
And for teeg this is not a problem for the deck.
real good players don't have to ply it at ptq they're already qualified. |

Yes, they went to wizards and told them how great they were at magic and wizards gave them pro status.
The "problem" with dredge is that even if you play it really bad, you'll still win on turn 3 or something very often. After sb things get trickier as you'll have to know how to handle the hate. |

| yes when you win on turn 3 its easy to play dredge but the games that you you play where you have to play more then 5 rounds are hard to play and are not easy to play... so a player who knows the deck not good will not win as many matches with dredge as a player who knows the deck exspecialy in matches which need more time ... sorry for my bad english ^^ |

Figured I would get the response by a million ppl that dredge isnt an easy deck to play, ok you're right on that, but it's a much easier deck to play game 1 then any other deck out there besides bad ones and goblins.
As for the deck i'm choosing, im leaning towards tog although i love balancing tings, but balancing tings has a problem doing turn 1 extirpate on a bridge if i dont have any lands in my opening draw that come into play untapped, plus tog has the ability to counter the dread return and play + pop deed the following turn to kill the tokens without haste, although a good dregde player wouldnt go off till they cabal therapy and know their opponents hand.
However, against other decks, playing balancing tings w/ draco n explosion, dealing 16 on turn 3-4-5 is pretty much game if they've taken any pain from lands and are tapped out, and tings with gargadon suspended or brushhopper rfg'd def clears things up.
So I guess the choice is Balancing Tings w/ 4x Crypt + 4x Exirpate or Tog w/ 4x Exirpate + 4x Leyline... |

| Ok guys I apologize, I have to go back to the scrapbook of looking for decks because the PTQ isnt until 2/22 and just found out morningtide will be legal, so of course that changes things, haven't looked at the new set too much, but same disputes will be risen im sure because dredge will obv still be played, so now I have to find a decent deck w/ morningtide.... |
