I'm off to the Morningtide Prerelease shortly, but since Gatherer had updated I generated a new alternate patch from that. So this should have all the Morningtide cards as well as all the other Oracle updates that Gottlieb noted in his article of changes to the database.

| Maybe because this one also contains changes to cards in sets other than morningtide and it's source is gatherer.wizards.com, how can you go wrong? |

I got into this patching stuff because of Lorwyn. A friend wanted to play, and the main listed Lorwyn patch had glaring typos and errors in costs and names and effects. Even now, the Apprentice Download page on this site lists Future Sight as the latest available patch (And I have no idea if it includes 10th, and nothing else would seem to have the great creature update)
I already had some scripts to understand Gatherer's output, and I modified them to create an Apprentice cardinfo.dat. So.. everything that is in Gatherer ended up in the file. Creature updates, Online Masters, errata to ancient cards, reminder text and so on. |

| I played someone who had no idea what the Morningtide cards really said because their patch is full of errors/ommisions, but I used this one and had no issues. So Kudos for making this and ya'll should consider downloading it. |

The patch should be about the same as other Apprentice patches. The zip file contains
Files:
Distro.dat
Expan.dat
Format.dat
Folder
Sets
Sets files:
cardinfo.dat
Unzipping the patch with Winzip and dragging the three dat files and the Set directory to your Apprentice directory and saying yes to overwrite the existing files should install the patch. |

| That's what I do, but, it still doesn't update. I still have Lorwyn only. |

I did find one error with the patch.
Not with the cards themselves, but with Format.dat. Morningtide was included as part of Lorwyn block, but was not included as part of Type-2 through Vintage. Oops.
For those keeping track, here's an updated patch

How did you actually find time to do all that?!
I salute you, Brefin!
My only gripe is that you included the Unglued and Unhinged cards, but goodness, you even included the Grand Creature Type Updates (Bartel Runeaxe is a legendary Giant Warrior now, hurrah!) which really impressed me!
Cheers, and keep up the good work! |

My background is programming. So over the years I dabbled with ways to try and setup my own card database (Haven't done it though.)
I already had some scripts that could take a download straight from WOTC's Gather and extract card information from it. So when I got on the patching bandwagon all I needed to solve was the format of Apprentice's cardfile (cardinfo.dat) That info is also available online.
Computers can be great for manipulating or transforming data. So once I get a copy of Wizard's full Oracle data for cards from Gatherer, I just need to do a little tweaking to add new sets to my scripts, and let them run. Getting all the card text updates, the grand creature update and so forth is just that cool.
I was amused to find Unglued/Unhinged in there, but I don't think they're in the Tournament card filters as it is. Seems to me to be more an amusing side light and not any kind of real problem to fix. |

A double check and it really should have Treetop Village in the file. You didn't leave enough info to provide further help. And I'm not too knowledgeable in Windows space... |
