well, i had a dream (yes i dream in magic) about this deck for ext and i had to make it. the deck list isn't bad and has no sideboard. the biggest problem, is it is very slow getting started unless i go off on the third turn. i even named it, "i have a dream".

// Deck file for Magic Workstation
// Lands
2 [RAV] Overgrown Tomb
3 [ON] Polluted Delta
4 [LRW] Swamp (4)
5 [10E] Forest (3)
1 [RAV] Plains (1)
2 [RAV] Sacred Foundry
2 [ON] Windswept Heath

// Creatures
4 [DIS] Protean Hulk
4 [LRW] Doran, the Siege Tower
4 [10E] Ornithopter
4 [10E] Birds of Paradise
1 [OD] Tireless Tribe
1 [PS] Meddling Mage
2 [RAV] Dark Confidant
1 [LRW] Liliana Vess
1 [FUT] Epochrasite

// Spells
4 [AP] Life/Death
4 [JU] Cabal Therapy
2 [FUT] Rites of Flourishing
2 [MR] Lightning Greaves
3 [8E] Ensnaring Bridge
2 [CHK] Sensei's Divining Top
2 [MR] Mass Hysteria

i think this can be a good deck in the format, with a little tweaking.

thanks all

Actually, saying it sucks is constructive criticism. When someone attacks your idea, you are forced to defend it and while defending it, you are forced to explain why it does NOT suck. And as you explain about why it does not suck, you can possibly see flaws in your explanation.

Furthermore, he asked you questions about certain card choices like the random 1 of Liliana Vess.

My bet is that you thought you could tutor up Liliana Vess with your Hulk, didn't you? You will deny it after realizing you cannot, but I'm pretty sure that you did.

To poster again:

Also, you're taking a Vintage combo and trying to apply it to Extended even though the circumstances in Vintage are totally different. Just because this idea does well in T1 doesn't mean it will in Extended. I doubt you did actual extensive testing with this and I think the only reason you say it could be good is because the idea did well in T1.

As I said, the circumstances are way different. First off, part of the combo involved in the T1 deck is banned in Extended (Disciple of the Vault) so you cannot instant win and you have to resort to attacking, which is hard since there is many aggro in the format and your creatures most likely won't get through.

Also, you don't have Flash so you have to worry about using a slower way to get Hulk into play which involves recursion. I notice how the only way you can get the Hulk into the grave is either Therapy yourself or Vess yourself. First, off those are options you'd prefer to do to your opponent and did I mention it's slow?

And after all that work of getting Hulk into play and getting it killed, you don't even assure yourself the win because you still have to attack through things.

As I said, just because this idea does well in T1 doesn't mean it can do well in Extended. Why? You don't have the proper cards (Flash and Disciple to name a few) and the metagame is drastically different.

I agree when saying this sucks and you shouldn't complain since

1) I doubt you tested this extensively and
2) I think you just came here with a lame transition idea and expect other people to test/tweak it for you, which IMO is lazy and pathetic

blah234 makes a good point in that being forced to defend something (in this case, an expensive pile of crap) will change your perspective of it

so, on that note, the deck is invalid in this format. build something else, and test it first

Tolarian Academy and Library of Alexandria, with Urborg in play, are only swamps when they are in play. Therefore, they are not swamps when they are in the library, hand, grave, etc. That means you can't fetch them with neither Bloodstained Mire nor Polluted Delta.

you are wrong.
Case and point, if you discard korlash to its grandeur ability with urborg in play you may search for any land card in your deck (urzas factory, desert, etc.) this was a recent (well not so recent) update from wizards. The same is true for magus of the moon and blood moon, that is if either one is in play all lands are mountains even in the library.

I don't want to argue with an idiot, so I'm going to make this short. You're wrong. Unless you can find me official proof that Wizards errata'd those cards (I doubt this), you're 100% wrong.
