<curby> goyf is the black dark confidant. people are saying put it in everything =\

<Jacois> well
<Jacois> you should
<Jacois> seriously
<Jacois> don't do it because it's "hip"
<Jacois> do it for a 6/7 for 1G
<Jacois> there's no better value
<Jacois> from T1 to T2
<Jacois> it's the best creature ever printed
<Jacois> enjoy using 4
<Jacois> embrace it
<Jacois> Because Tarmogoyf is fucking broken
<Jacois> format warping
<Jacois> and should be banned
<Jacois> In ALL formats

What do you think?

Not even close to be banned. Just very good, but never broken.

It looks like WotC is taking the power level a step down with Lorwyn, yes. I guess it will be a good limited format, with all the tribes, but Standard will definitely not be as good as it was. I suppose they learned a lot from the Mirrodin incident.

It's a creature and it's not even as powerful as people like to think it is. sure it can get big fast, but at the same time every color has a way to deal with it effectively even green, well except maybe red but htey can do that before it gets too big. Psychatog, Ravager, Wild Mongrel even were all better creatures because they had a lot more synergy with the rest of the enviroment around them.

A green creature card with basically no abilities can't be the best creature card ever printed, there's lots of cards that can deal against goyf easily.

Tarmogoyf. It's another Psychatog or Jitte" - by Pierre Canali at GP Montreal

Did they ever ban Jitte or Tog?

tarmogoyf is the best creature, but it will not be banned, was psychatog banned no, was mongrel banned no, ravager was banned but thats just bc the whole affinity deck was too broken and they banned it when it was rotating out anyway. i agree goyf is the best creature right now but i do not think it is ban worthy

Don't be mad at Jacois for overrating Goyf; he invented the card, of course he has a bias.

everyone knows how good Goyf is... if you don't try it.... also how can a card in standard go for 35-50$ each...... no card in my entire history of standard, since 2001 has gone fro 35+$ each...... highest thing i have seen was 15$ cards..

either way... every deck has to either brace for it, or use it.... so a card that warps the format... well every format, is kind of annoying.

Why would they ban a card that's supposed to be reprinted in the future since it was "futureshifted"?

if it goes for 35-50 from where ever you are from i feel bad for you bc you have to waste so much money, here it is around 20-25, i got mine rly cheap bc i knew they were good.
