I came up with this deck after testing with the modern day
sea-stompy for a while. I never seemed to get the mana I
needed even though when I did it always payed off big time.
I dug up a list I put together at the release of TS when
unstable mutation came back to standard. I had tried to make
it work with cheap unblockable blue wheenie creatures like flying men or drifter il-dal and finish off the opponent with burn. At the time the deck didn’t work so I forgot about it. But now I’ve come back to it but with a different mentality. I’ve replaced the red in the deck for green.

Name: UB Small Men

Creatures:

2 Giant Solifuge
4 Llanowar Elves
3 Skarrgan Pit-Skulk
3 Looter il-Kor
4 Flying Men
2 Drifter il-Dal
3 Uktabi Drake

Spells:

2 Stonewood Invocation
4 Unstable Mutation
4 Remand
3 Mana Leak
2 Call of the Heard
3 Psionic Blast

Lands:

4 Breeding Pool
4 Yavimaya Coast
6 Island
4 Forest
2 Desert
1 Pendelhaven

Sideboard:

3 Trickbind
3 Tormod’s Crypt
3 Krosan Grip
3 Leyline of Lifeforce
3 Annex
I think in the actual format this deck can beat a player before he can blink. 4 damage on turn 2 is a very common play and I’ve even been able to make that 7 once or twice. The point is to drop early creatures and swing as much as you can before the opponent can get anything going. I can have good matchups against almost every deck, it all depends on my starting hand. The only thing I’ve been having major problems against is land destruction decks like wildfire tron. Control can go both ways as it depends if I can drop enough early creatures to kill him before he wraths or before he locks me down with counterspells. After sideboard I get to put in Leyline of Lifeforce wich seems innocent enough but helps a lot when all you want to do is make a creature stick long enough to put in the extra damage. Against Gragonstorm and other storm decks the first game really depends how fast they can combo off and how fast I can dish out the damage. I get a good chance of destroying their combo when I side in trickbind. Even if the originall copy actually resolves, I can usually get by a huge dragon or a few goblins for lethal damage. I didn’t get to test it much against aggro but the counterspells usually help me stay one step ahead of him and that’s usually enough for a win.

If you want to comment my deck or give me ideas on how to tune it or how to modify the sideboard feel free to, I would greatly appreciate if you would.

I do not approve. I just feel that too many of the cards in the deck are bad. I mean, any good deck should match the following addition statement: good individual cards + good bigger picture.

The deck I think is supposed to drop some creature on turn one. Then Mutate it unstably and get in as much dmg as you can. I think, that when you dont draw an unstable mutation. you are not going to race any deck.

Think it needs a faster clock by creatures alone and have the mutation to make the deck better, not make the deck.
