Those industries wouldn't make money if money wasn't spent on them in the first place. Huge chunks of that money go towards research at various colleges and universities, in technologies that will help broaden all of Canada's options for the future, for when our resources do 'run out'.

What do you think happens to the rest of the country when Alberta stops footing the bill? If you think we're just going to stop being rich, and the rest of the country is going to sit back and laugh at us, think again. What, an economy that is on pace with that of China is going to suddenly dry up, and the rest of the country is just going to keep on ticking, like nothing ever happened. Ha fucking ha. Good one. Make sure to kick us in the ass real good when that happens.

Good point. It's also worth noting that our primary trading partner is directly south of our border, and we have spent billions of dollars and about the last 80 years building pipelines all the way south to California, Nevada, and Texas. In addition, we have been slowly transforming the #2 highway (north/south) into a super highway, with four lanes in each direction. So much for being landlocked.

woa u fucking ontarionite and yes i kno thats not the real fucking way to call someone form ontario ur fucking stupid montreal is the single greatest city in all of canada, we have the best women, drugs mayb our language laws are a little crazy at least our city has a nitelife( btw my brother lives in calgary everything downtown even on a friday closes around 11 so much for that) quebec is one of the largest exporters of energy directly to the us in canada sooo go build another big tower that does nothing
