Canadian isn't a race. per se, so you're good no matter what =P.

No, we don't. We pay a hefty sum of tax money to keep that 'free' system going, a sum of money that cannot be sustained without continuously raising taxes. Maybe it's different elsewhere in the country, but in Alberta, we also pay Health Care, on top of the taxes levied by the federal government through sales taxes. Alberta, with a population of about 3.5 million people, spends over 32 billion dollars a day on health care... EVERY SINGLE DAY! Show me the free part of that.
As for the skill testing question... it's there because 'luck based gaming' is illegal outside of casinos and bingo halls. It's a way for radio stations and grocery stores and such to get around having a 'luck based prize system', which for some reason is not legal here. I'm not sure why it applies to lotto tickets, as they can't be sold to minors, but hey, that's bureucracy for you. |

And if MTL has the worlds second best bud, BC must have the best. |

You'd be bitchy, too, if your farmers got arrested for selling the grain and feeds they grew outside of the 'Canadian Wheat Board', a board that only holds power over three provinces. Nice how everybody else can sell their crops at a fair price,. but if you live in Alberta or Saskatchewan, you get arrested and put into a provincial prison. The Feds didn't even have the balls to enforce their own system, they have to pass it off onto us. So thirteen people have permanent records, which will not be exonerated, even after the dissolution of that board.
All this, so that eastern farmers could remain 'competitive'. It's called oppression. Albertans in general are tired of it, are tired of constantly having to defend their rights, of constantly having to defend the other provinces rights. What do we get in return? People half a world away trying to take what we work hard for, and ignorant comments like yours. Thank you. It's good to know we're appreciated for more than just our equalization payments. |

Please do not act as though Alberta is the "martyr" province who selflessly fights for the rights of over provinces. When the East was covered in snow without electricity or heat, I believe the comment from the west was "let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark". You dirty worse-than-mexicans can act like the victim if you like, but you are greedy little sheepfuckers and that is all you will ever be. Kiss my Ontarian nuts. Actually don't, I wouldn't want to catch on of the many diseases you undoubtedly have(such as Albertanitis). |

How very eloquent.
So, I take it you don't appreciate the fact that Alberta provides almost a quarter of the federal government's revenue each year? You obvisously wouldn't know where that money goes, or the fact that it is spent on things like the Canadian Forces and RCMP... you know, those guys that were sent in to provide disaster relief for that ice storm?
How very greedy of us. Maybe we should stop spending some of the 90 billion or so dollars of our own revenue on other provinces industries... you know, like the 13 billion we spend on Ontario manufacturing? That would be your main industry, in case you were wondering. This is money spent on top of the 70+ billion that the federal government collects through income tax and other revenues.
So lets see... 224 billion in federal revenue, of which we provide 70 billion. We are also paying 90 billion outside of that to help generate work in other provinces... sounds pretty greedy to me.
Oh, and while we're on being greedy, 'Let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark!' was the slogan on bumper stickers produced in response to the National Energy Program in the early eighties. You may have heard of it; it caused a recession in Canada that was as on par with the Great Depression. I believe it was a tax grab by an eastern led government... hm. Not greedy at all. |

Alberta is digging its grave, once your oil is gone, you'll have enough taxes on your hands to be the equilivant of that of Toronto.
Your 14 y/o hookers will have to wait, and so will you ass kicking from every other province :/ |
