Well, maybe not, but you have to get to a MUCH higher mana count that TEPS, and you also have to run far more win conditions. TEPS can work around hate; this has to work around most of the same hate but doesn't have as much room to play with.
I suppose a second-turn Hellkite's as good against Boros in 1.x as it is in t2, though. |

| Why play dragonstorm if you can play desire? |

Dragons are funnier. They eat your soul.
And by my logic, you actually need a LOWER mana count most of the time, unless you happen to have all the win cards in hand and don't need to hardcast 2x desire or 1 desire 1 sins or any small spells..or for that matter count your mana. You go land lotus bleh bleh bleh I win. Seems easier.
Edit: and for the record, nine isn't MUCH more than six. Maths are tech. Use the googles. |

Nine IS much higher than six. You can hit Six mana with only two spells, or one spell and a thrid land (Cabal Ritual with thresh). Granted, you're going to be casting as many things as possible, but even so, isn't it nice to have the option to blow some of the massive mana you're making on cards that let you find a win condition, instead of needing to conserve it all? Everyone knows that Kokusho and DS are in the environment. Wouldn't you think that people have tested both possibilities for Storm-based combo and agreed on the more consistent and efficient version by now? I'm not trying to be down on rogue strategies, I'm just saying that this was likely to be tried by an awful lot of people who play the deck in t2, and it hasn't shown up anywhere. I don't think the rest of the world is being lazy. I just think it hasn't worked.
And don't need to hardcast more than a single Desire if you're going to win with TEPS.
But Combo's not that great in extended right now. Two of the best decks rape it and have game against the rest of the field (Aggro Loam and Rock). |

| Just say no to Rorix. maybe outta the board if you're afraid of... no, just say no. I have not goldfished your build, and perhaps having 7 Dragonstorms solves the problem, but you seem to have a distinct lack of any card draw/filter. |

| my version runs 3 nights whisper and 3 infernal contract and 4 overmaster that serve double duty, as a turn 1 draw spell or protection for the D'storm, or any other spell |
