| It's a trick question. If the grapeshots kill the opponent, then you don't take mana burn! Also, if that man's father is your father's son, and you don't have any brothers, then that man is your son. Also, the answer is one, since the question asks how many were going to St. Ives there is no need to calculate cats, sacks, rings and wives. |

RRR - Mountains
RR RR - Spellcount=1, RIte of FLame#1
RRR RRR - spellcount=2 Rite of FLame#2
the triplettes of R transform to
RRRRR each, and the spellcount goes to 4 (2 Songs)
10 red mana in pool
8mana->spellcount5, GS for 5 dmg
6mana-> spellcount6, GS for 6 dmg
4mana-> spellcount7, GS for 7 dmg
2mana-> spellcount8, GS for 8 dmg
8+7+6+5 = 26 Damage

As snoopster said, you give 26 damage. If your opp goes to 0 or below you win the game without taking the mana burn since the loss of life from mana burn will only occur at the end of the current phase and according to rules,if a player is at 0 or below life he loses a game once a player gets priority. So when the stack is empty, you get priority and u win the game, no matter if you were at 1, 2 life or more.
The storm of the first Grape counts 4 and the grape itself that gives 5 damage, the 2nd grape will count the 1st one in its storm count and gives 6, the same applys to the 3rd and 4th grapeshot so you will give 5+6+7+8 = 26 damage.
Flippi your maths are wrong, 8!-4! = 40320-24 = 40296. and if you meant (8-4)! = 4! = 24. Factorial doesn't sum each parcel, it multiples them so basically you were counting 8*7*6*5. Even if this was your goal, 8!-4! while it seems correct, the results is wrong. To calculate 8*7*6*5 the correct formula with factorials is 8!/4!. Both results "8*7*6*5" and "8!/4!" would give 1680. |

Your math is much more advanced than mine, but your knowledge of magic rules is far inferior.
Your opponent would be at 2, from the other three grapeshots (lucksack), then you would play the fourth and final grapeshot, storm would trigger, priority would pass to your opponent, he passes back, storm resolves and copies the spell seven times, then you have priority with 8 grapeshots on the stack. You pass to your opponent, he passes back, one resolves, he's at one. Then you have priority with 7 grapeshots on the stack, you pass, he passes, the next resolves, putting your opponent at zero. The game checks for triggered abilities and state-based effects everytime a spell or ability resolves -before anyone gets priority- so when that second grapeshot resolves, the game sees your opponent at zero and he dies as a state-based effect. If this were a multi-player game, there would still be six grapeshots on the stack. |

| Thanks for correcting me kendiggy. Still, he didn't specify is opp life points so it could be necessary all the 26 points of damage so he would win after the last one resolved and one player had priority. |
