// Lands
8 [IA] Snow-Covered Plains
8 [IA] Snow-Covered Mountain
5 [IA] Snow-Covered Forest

// Creatures
4 [CS] Martyr of Sands
4 [9E] Soul Warden
4 [TSP] Children of Korlis
4 [RAV] Birds of Paradise
4 [CS] Tamanoa

// Spells
3 [RAV] Faiths Fetters
4 [9E] Angel's Feather
3 [RAV] Brightflame
4 [RAV] Searing Meditation
4 [RAV] Lightning Helix

I tried to make a martyr meditation deck, but without tamanoa it's rather bad.

I'm going for tamanoa chain on turn 6-10(T10 is usually the win turn)
And what better time to bring this back then when most decks use 1 to 3 toughness weenies?

Current Ideas:
Privaledged Position - Stop the enchantment and tamanoa kill?

Anyone?

Can you offer an alternate, because i find it works well as a Turn 2 drop.

It seems like proclamation of rebirth would fit in this deck pretty well, since most of ur creatures are 1 drops and you can recur martyrs. Also, I don't see the point in running all snow lands and no duals, it just gums up ur mana base. Also brightflame seems a little too slow in this deck and it has a huge mana commitment. Maybe firemane angel would fit better in the place of brightflame? Peace of mind would work really well if you put firemane angels in. I'm just giving a bunch of options so you can test them out. I would also find room for 1-2 more lands. In summary:

+ however many duals you have
+ firemane angel?
+ peace of mind (only if you put in angel)

- birds of paradise
- brightflame
- angel's feather

Hope that this helped a little bit...

I did test proclamation at 1 point, but the point of the deck is to activate soul warden/angel feathers ability and gain me 1 time which through the tamanoa combo into 4 damage and 5 life. If i sped 3/6 on procelamtion i lose my chance to do damage.
I thought about firemane and peace of mind, but i completely forgot about it on my deck sheet(Yes, i write own all the posibilites of a deck on paper.) I also like the birds because i can get meditation down t2 stopping it from being countered

Do NOT use duals.

Use painlands instead.

With Tamanoa they gain you the life back after they deal it to you, and taking pain from a painland, then gaining the life in order to use Searing Meditation essentially for free is amazing.

Just because pain lands work better with tamanoa doesn't mean you don't use dual lands. I would use both then. You can't play 3 colors without any duals or pains...

2 [TSP] Sudden Shock

I was going nuts trying to figure out how to make the green more useful. I consulted an old friend and he told me rumbling slums. It seems to work really well. I threw in 4 burn spells just to deal with annoying critters.

I too noticed the pain lands key wording. It's been tons of fun to tap for pain and deal lotsa damage. Only issue now is the usual meta problems.

Remember?

The only thing I can remember about this was that no one got it to be even slightly viable.

the meta back then was UW Vs. Grull. The meta now is far more vast and far more forgiving to this deck.

Back then? You realize your talking two-three months ago before timespiral. UW Vs. Gruul? You've got to be kidding me.

The biggest decks pre-rotation were Structure and Force, UR Wildfire, any aggro deck with Jitte (Zoo, Gruul, Hand in Hand, and to an extent, Ninjas) and Snakes.

I've no idea where you got mainly UW Vs. Gruul.

Firemane doesn't just have synergy with searing meditation, it's also an extra win condition. I think angel is almost a must-have in this deck IMO.
