RG Gruul Beats, as played by Paulo Carvalho. How could the deck/sideboard be changed? How could the matchups be improved? Discuss!

I think you should not try to make gruul beats right now. There are so many other better decks to play. Why play a deck that died awhile ago and not do well? Play like matyrtron or something else actually good that you like. If you still want to though I would add more burn to it and also kroson grips on side it rocks!

4 breaker
4 timber
4 dryad
4 r.bolt
4 char
1 seal of fire
4 solifuge

i've created a nice variant but i dunno if it can go...i tried it and when it works its a real bomb.

3x Simian Spirit Guide
3x Kird Ape
3x Seal of Fire
4x Char
4x Giant Solifuge
4x Groundbreaker
4x Call of the Herd
3x Might of Old Krosa
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Birds of Paradise
3x Spectral Force (vs boros really helpful, but may be replaced with some aggro 2 drop)
1x Pendelhaven
4x Stomping Ground
4x Karplusan Forest
1x Skarrg, the Rage Pits
3x Mountain
8x Forest

Any suggestions?

New list... Laughing

Drop1:
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Kird Ape
4 Seal of Fire
3 Rift Bolt (i usually play it in suspend Wink )

Drop2:
4 Scab-Clan Mauler
2 Tin Street Hooligan (Good against siggies.dec, lock the WoG or Damn on turn 3)

Drop3:
4 Sulfur Elemental (Best creature VS control U-based...)
3 Call of the Herd
4 Char

Drop4:
4 Giant Solifuge
2 Stonewood Invocation

1 Pendelhaven
1 Skaarg, the Rage Pits
1 Gruul Turf (only for fixing mana...)
4 Stomping Ground
4 Karplusan Forest
5 Forest
6 Mountain

Side:
1 Call of the Herd
3 Burning-Tree Shaman

2 Tin Street Holligan
2 Krosan Grip

2 Moldervine Cloak
1 Gaea's Anthem

4 Blood Moon

This is my list... i built it helping myself with the top8 GP Kyoto... i don't like Scorched Rusalka and Tree Shaman in main deck, i put sulfur elemental instead... SSG aren't useful i think... Wink

...i don't like too much burn in GRuul decks... i prefer to put a 3/3 on turn 2 rather than 3 dmg in late game... besides CoH is very important with control deck to do a 2x1... or to put a creature after a WoG and continue the race with only one turn of "calm"... How about Bounce Land/s?

GRuul is slowly to gain a real advantage from keldon marauders... specially these list... keldon marauders are better in a "Weenie" decks than a real beatdown...
@PresRufus: what's the real utilility of sudden shocks?? do you think that are important? Side Board whitout Blood Moon is crazy... control decks loses only for that card.. and this metagame are full of control...

Sudden Shock took the place of Volcanic Hammer in my deck because it cant be countered and there is allot of control in the meta right now. Im also running avalanche riders in the board instead of bloodmoon, because bloodmoon doesnt seem to hurt izzetron too badly, and avalance rides can stop thier tron and still come in for 2. I might switch it for bloodmoon. Right now, Im having a little trouble with the dredge list, and after I SB in tormods crypt, it hurt them, but every now and then its just not enough, game one almost always goes to them, 2 to me, and then the 3rd is just oo close, Id probably say 55/45 my favor, and Im not too happy with that.

My Future Sight update:

//NAME: Gruul Beats
1 Pendelhaven
1 Skarrg, the Rage Pits
2 Keldon Megaliths
4 Stomping Ground
4 Karplusan Forest
4 Mountain
5 Forest
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Kird Ape
2 Tin Street Hooligan
4 Emberwilde Augur
4 Scab-Clan Mauler
3 Call of the Herd
4 Giant Solifuge
4 Char
4 Rift Bolt
4 Seal of Fire
2 Stonewood Invocation
SB: 4 Magus of the Moon
SB: 3 Sulfur Elemental
SB: 3 Krosan Grip
SB: 3 Tormod's Crypt
SB: 2 Demonfire

Pretty much the only additions are:
Megalith: Good to finish off, helps keep steam up
Emberwilde Augur: I really like these, can help to quick finish if they put up a meaty blocker
Magus of the Moon: Yup yup.

Anything else I missed?
