I'm having the following problem with MWS:

Whenever I try to create a game in pavouk.square.cz and the other user accepts, or even when connecting to another users IP (it happens a lot more often when using pavouk), I get a Visual Studio "debugging" window that means a crash. I can sometimes keep playing but if I close the error window, Windows crashes and I need to reset the computer. Does someone have that problem? MWS works perfect in solitaire and deckbuilding mode.

One thing I'm doing that might be the cause is that I disable the Windows Firewall to connect, can someone tell me what ports need to be open for MWS to work properly?

It's really annoying because there are trials and masters that require MWS to play, and I have been awarded game losses or had to concede because I needed to restart (opponents usually pounce on such opportunities to ask judges for a gameloss, even when sometimes the game hadn't started yet).

It's weird, but Apprentice has never crashed on me (and I like its deckbuilding features better, though MWS has a nicer play area).

If anyone has any suggestions, please post them. Thanks in advance.

PD: I'm considering using a Virtual Machine / VMWare with a fresh XP to install MWS on, might that help or make it worse?

heres what you do....remember to follow these directions to the key. Or else they won't work.

Next time it crashes:
1. Get up
2. Take off any footwear, socks, shirt, boxers(not tighty whities), Overall's, Hats, helmets, kilts, skirts you might be wearing.
3. Masterbate onto your computer.
4. Sing any song by Hanson
5. Repeat Step 3.
6. Sing any song by the Spice Girls
7. Repeat Step 3.
8. Get dressed again
9. type: ctrl + alt + delete twice.
10. Restart your computer.

that should fix it...

I don't know about such a bug. However, the port you need to open in the firewall to let people connect to you is 4747.

Thanks. I'll try MWS with the firewall on and see if it works better.

Today I played in a trial, and it crashed AGAIN after 2 games !!! argh!

It's the only program that crashes in my computer, and it's so random

(I played several games lately and it hadn't crashed, that's why I entered the trial.)

No-one else has these problems, or a solution? I want to play Extended and you mostly can't in Apprentice because of Wishes...
