I wanted to know if this works, because several people have told me it does, and several have told me that it doesn't. Anyways, here is an example-
Its turn 3, I have Izzet Guildmage on the field. I use my three mountains to play Seething Song. [5 mana]
I play a Lava spike from my hand, and splice on Desperate Ritual. [2 mana left]
I then play Desperate Ritual from my hand with my remaining mana. [0 mana]
The desperate ritual resolves first, and I gain 3 mana. [3]
I then use that 3 mana to activate Izzet Guildmage's ability, making a copy of the spliced spell. [0]
The spliced spell resolves, and I do 3 damage while gaining 3 mana. [3]
I make a copy of the copy, and then it resolves to do 3 damage and I gain 3 mana, and so on and so forth. Every time I do 3 damage and gain 3 mana, allowing me to repeat the cycle.
So my question is, does this work? Or am I just misguided on the rules? Thanks ahead of time. |

The ability "Splice" means the spliced cards words are copied onto the original. The case being Lava Spike. So when its copied it produces an addition RRR. An infinite loop.
So yes it does work and has been know to the world for quite some time now. |
