I know that Counterbalance/Top engine looks bad on paper, but try it. Build this on MWS, and play a few games with it. You will find that this deck is amazing with the engine in it.

With the Engine, you just win. If you dont get it, or they disrupt it or something, they just waisted random cards, and you beat them the way regular Tog Decks win...

For Those Who Dont Know How Tog Decks Work:
-Play Lands
-Counter Spells
-Draw Cards
-Repeat Above
-Cast a Flying Psychatog (Wonder) and Win

Try it before you say its bad...
If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

-Ishi-Ishi, Lover of Goats

Special Thanks to d.phoenixxx over at SCG, for comming up with the idea.

Id also consider adding another Tog, another force spike and another cigular logic. Id problaly cut a darkblast, a top, and acounter balance.

I took the third option 'cause I'm cool!
Pretty solid looking deck. 4 Togs would be better in my opinion and I also think Rune Snag>Mana Leak in this deck, if you play 4 Snags that is.

Don't play extended. Or legacy, or vintage. Force Spike is one hundred percent better. It just is.

That set aside...

This is one of the biggest insults to Psychatog in 'Tog history. I absoultly HATE it when people take a concept in type two, and just think it applies to every other format.

All it looks like you did was take Antione Ruel's PT L.A. Psychatog deck (which is the best one, by the way) took out good cards and added counterbalance.

No, actually.
I play Tog, know what a good list looks like, then made it better.

Know what your talking about before you comment. Test the deck, then come back and voice your oppinion. It looks bad on paper, I know... It works though.

As for Rune Snag... Seems interesting. But I would need to run 4... I only run two Mana Leak, so I dont think it would be amazing.

Force Spike is better IMO, maybe if I ran Wish, I would SB it... But for now, I like Spike.

Thank you to all that think this deck is good.
For those that think its bad, please give a reason why, other than its different. In an older T2, R/W slide was the norm. But after it became G/W Slide (A good deck changed...) it won Worlds.

I'm fairly sure I know what I'm talking about. I've been playing Psychatog in Extended for three years.

I've probably tried every version that seemed viable (eg: loam tog, gifts tog, burning tog, dredge-a-tog, ichorid tog, 3,4, and five color tog, desire tog, madness tog, which is the most horrible deck ever, and isocrotog....get the picture)

Counterbalance is ass in Psychatog. I don't really feel like I need to elaborate, so I won't.

...About Slide, RW was the norm, until FIFTH DAWN came out. Eternal Witness. If you can't figure out why RW slide died out after that, you need to quit Magic.

Actually, RW slide was the norm up untill a month or two before Worlds. It actually took a while for Witness to make its way into Slide. Most people still played WR, or WR/g for Viridian Shaman. I played the deck when it is T2 legal... I know what I'm talking about.

As for the deck we are currently talking about: Counterbalance Tog, TRY IT. Really, try it. It looks like jank, but it actually isn't.

It can play just like a straight UB Tog deck, but can also just wreck some decks, with Counterbalance Tricks.

Updated Decklist:

// Lands
4 [ON] Flooded Strand
4 [ON] Polluted Delta
3 [RAV] Watery Grave
5 [8E] Island (1)
1 [ST] Swamp (4)
1 [SOK] Mikokoro, Center of the Sea
2 [OD] Cephalid Coliseum
1 [SOK] Oboro, Palace in the Clouds
1 [CHK] Minamo, School at Water's Edge
1 [MR] Seat of the Synod
1 [MR] Vault of Whispers

// Creatures
1 [CHK] Meloku the Clouded Mirror
1 [JU] Wonder
4 [OD] Psychatog

// Spells
2 [CS] Counterbalance
1 [DS] Echoing Truth
4 [TO] Circular Logic
4 [5E] Force Spike
3 [IN] Fact or Fiction
3 [CHK] Sensei's Divining Top
2 [ON] Smother
2 [SH] Mana Leak
4 [MM] Counterspell
3 [MR] Thirst for Knowledge
2 [RAV] Shred Memory

I cut Counterbalance down to two, and added in Shred Memory. This takes the focus away from the Counterbalance part of the deck, but still leaves it available.
