hope he finds the dude

even so, I never take my eyes off my cards unless I leave it to someone who will not move(and i trust completely), or atleast take the cards with him when he does

After reading this post, I can only say 3 things.

1. It sucks to have your p9 and valuable cards stolen, but:

2. It's his fault. You should NEVER leave your valuable cards with someone, even if you asked him to watch over them. Also, NEVER keep all your valuable cards in one box, binder, etc. If you keep them in one box it is only easier to take all the cards in one quick swoop.

3. How are you going to prove the cards are yours? Unless they got specific markings on them, you can't prove anything, even with the security tape. Also, the police will probably not will prioritize this incident, as to them, they're just cardboard.

I kinda doubt you read the whole post. He says that he knows he fucked up and doesn't want pity he just wants to get the word out in the hopes that some of the cards will show up. Many of his cards were VERY UNIQUE. How many Mana Vaults with Rubik's Cube alt. art do you think exist, I'm gonna guess one. About 15 or more cards in the collection are easily identifiable as unique. I don't even know who this guy is forreal but I think it is really fucked up that someone stole a small fortune from him and I really hope he catches the people responsible and they have to face justice for this.
A lot of people lose perspective on this since magic is a game but some people don't make in a year what was stolen from this guy in the period of 2 mins. Don't get it fucked up, someone knows what happened and if the person who stole these cards is caught they seriously face hard time in jail as they should. I hope they at least are sitting home knowing that they may be on camera stealing 15k worth of stuff and sweating at the jail sentence that awaits if they are caught. If you think the police don't take shit like this seriously you are dead wrong. I was at Waterbury one year and someones powered Stax deck was stolen and the police were there 15 mins. later taking statements and searching bags like they would do in any other case of grand theft.

Every dumbass who said:

Ahh it's just cardboard...

Might as well chuck all their cash while they're at it because afterall its just paper.

On a trading standpoint Magic cards in some respects are a sort of bond. When you possess for example the p9 their value will never drop. If you have the same money value it will change with inflation. Because those cards are no longer in print they are probably worth more in a couple of years then the current amount money (more paper) can buy them for.

SO to all you dips out there consider the circumstance.

You should make a way for a person to return the cards, for example say the culprit regrets his crime and he wants to return the cards but without being seen or someone else who wants to remain anonymous. Either that he can leave it at a card shop or some other place.

Maybe if you're lucky he realized it won't be easy to sell off the cards afterall and decides to return them back, unseen.

Sounds strange yes but strange things can happen.

It happens it is crap as well.. you see it a lot on PTR's PTQ's Nationals etc. You have to keep an eye on your collection, esp at trading as well.. You never really know who you are dealing with.

if i had the P9 and an all foilly stax deck and somone stole it, i would cry Sad

Once i had a girlfriend who liked to steal and we went to a card store and no one was watching her and she grabs the black lotus that was for sale, it was behind the glass but she just reached around it. i had to tell her to put it back, it was scary. its agianst my Code of magic honor to steal... it makes bad mojo.

I have to admit, when i was 14 i once stole some kids 4 survivle of the fitest and 4 recurring nightmare for my deck. Sorry kid! i was dumb.

But something on this scale(P9) Will have repurcussions, thats for sure.
