|
|
I'm a bit new to Magic and I was wondering if I can sacrifice a creature at any time. I have 2 specific examples:
1) I summon Rathi Dragon which says when it comes into play, sacrifice it unless you sacrifice two Mountains. Before I sac the Dragon, can I first play an instant such as Fling (deals damage equal to the sacrificed creature's power to target creature or player.)?
2) My opponent has enchantment No Mercy (Whenever a creature deals damage to you, destroy it). After I deal the damage to him, can I sacrifice it before it gets destroyed?
Thanks. |

Does that also mean that if I block with a creature which would result in its death I can still sac it too? |

if you put damage on the stack you can you sac it...because the sacing effect will trigger before the damage will

1) Vodka is wrong, you can cast the dragon, then cast fling in response to the triggered ability 'When Rathi Dragon comes into play...'.
2) You can sacrifice the creature before it is destroyed, in fact you have many opportunities to do so while still dealing damage.
a) After combat damage is on the stack
b) After combat damage resolves
c) In response to the triggered ability from No Mercy. |

| then dragon comes into, then the "sac to mountains" goes on the stack at which point you play fling before the dragons effect resolves. simple for anyone whos been here a while like vodka. |

Stil ... you said that you can do something after combat damage has resolves... that is so wrong
when combat damage resolves NEITHER player can't do anything (basic rulings) |

But you can sac. them as a reaction to the No Mercy trigger ! |

There is a significant difference between after and when |

| Sorry, got confused. I thought when you got priority after combat damage it was before triggered abilities happen, but now I remember that it's actually the End of Combat step where you get priority for the last time. |
