First off… I am going to be running Mono Grey control (B/W control) at the Southern Atlantic regionals this year. Sure it was out of style before it made it big, but its been winning me FNM’s for the last two months and brought my constructed rating to above 1785.

So without further ado, my list…

Creatures
3 Descendant of Kiyomaro
3 Dimir House Guard
2 Yosei, the Morning Star
2 Kokusho, the Evening Star

Removal
4 Last Gasp
4 Mortify
3 Faith’s Fetters
4 Wrath of God
1 Night of Souls’ Betrayal

Support
3 Phyrexian Arena
2 Debtor’ Knell
1 Jester’s Cap

Mana Producers
4 Orzhov Signet
4 Godless Shrine
4 Caves of Koilos
4 Orzhov Basilica
1 Eiganjo Castle
4 Plains
7 Swamp

Side Board
2 Cranial Extraction
3 Castigate
1 Bottled Cloister
1 Terashi’s Grasp
1 Ivory Mask
1 Angel of Despair
1 Persecute
1 Scour
1 Ghost Council of Orzhova
1 Descendant of Kiyomaro
2 Seize the Soul

The deck has been tuned towards agro based decks, but is able to change its tune for more control based decks. Before I get flamed for the Jester’s Cap in the main-board and the Cranial Extractions in the side, it plays out better against Heartbeat and some of the more experimental decks that haven’t been net decked.

The mainboard is solid, but the sideboard it rather jank. I am mostly playing on the strength of Dimir House Guard’s transmute ability to fetch whatever silver bullet is needed at the time. Look at the possibilities I have… Fetters, Wrath, Soul’s Betrayal, and Jester’s Cap game one then expanding into Cranials (combo), Cloister (Hand-in-Hand), Ivory Mask (Heartbeat and Zoo/Heezy St.), Persecute (U/x Control), Scour (Heartbeat), and Seize the Soul (non B/W agro as it 3-1’s them).

As solid as the deck is, it doesn’t have much of a game against Owl/Magnavore/hybrid decks that bounce or kill my early lands. I haven’t been testing too much online as my computer has issues with MWS but have been doing a lot with teammates here. There isn’t too much of a Magnavore presence in my area, so I don’t have much experience with it other than to know it wrecks me.

I have also been dabbling with the idea of some of the new Dissension cards… mainly Condemn, Crime/Punishment (mostly splashing green for the Pernicious Deed effect), and possibly Infernal Tutor.

Thoughts or Suggestions are welcome, but if you want to flame me at least rationalize yourself. As I didn't do a card by card analysis, feel free to ask for clarification or find me in the chartrooms.

I don't understand the question... "how come theres no answer of no just plain no" - this isn't a counter deck, so there is no "NO" card, but Mortify and Wrath are rather big "NO" cards for creatures as is the Descendant.

If this wasn't what you were talking about, please expand on your coment.

I'm pretty sure hes referring to your vote, as in there should be a "No, this deck is bad" option.

You're playing an anti-aggro deck, and there are plenty of anti-aggro decks, especially Ghost Dad. But I think Ghost Dad's other match-ups are probably stronger than yours.

You probably need more Castigates and Faiths Fetters maindeck, fewer Last Gasps etc.. and maybe you should make your 4 signets into 2-3 land.

it is a powerful deck, but there is a rather large anti-control population at the moment, WU control, UR variants(owl, vore, tron), etc.

i hope you do well but you are gonna run into these decks a few times

PS im liking the jester's cap Very Happy
