Okay, so I'm going through the Dissension spoiler and I see this in the land section:

Ghost Quarter
Land
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
T,Sacrifice Ghost Quarter: Destroy target land. Its controller may search his or her library for a basic land card, put it into play, then shuffle his or her library.

My jaw dropped. Sure it isn't as broken as Strip Mine, but hey, pretty similar. So my opponent gets a basic land; key word:BASIC. In a format with so many decks running non-basic lands and the decks depending so heavily on the mana base, how could this be bad? Yes, you will lose tempo and board advantage, but if you hit a shock land, you just cut your opponents tempo also.
Critisize this as much as you want, I think Ghost Quarter will see play in competitive decks, if not PTQs.

depends on the format played in. the more basic lands in the format the worse it gets. as for t2 it might see play, if not in the s/b then in 2 color aggro decks. making ur opp lose tron is good. hitting bounce lands is good. hitting duals is bad.

so you waste a land drop and untap one of your oppts land..

sseriously.. t2 has enough random basic lands in deck to counter act GQ

in legacy/t1 maybe it will be used.. but wasteland does a better job..

Actually, I can see why you think it's a good card since like you said, there's so much non-basic land around.

Against certain decks, it is very good, but against others it's just pissing in a bucket. Really not accomplishing anything. The fact that it is so "hit or miss" is enough to screw it out of T2 life.

You answered your own question. It's only good for hitting Bosieju it would seem. It's worse in Legacy then any other format BTW.

Using it as a Wasteland is moronic. If you just randomly hit your opponents dual, you have made a play comparable to trying to Waste a fetch land. It is not good at all for that purpose (unless of course the opponent is playing no basic lands at all).

Sergitknight was on the right track, however. It could be useful in a monocolored deck that isn't worried about heavy mana requirements to take out bombs like Vitu-Ghazi, Church, Skargg, Minamo, Shizo, etc. If this card doesn't see play, it will because multicolored decks are too popular, and they will have a harder time supporting a land that doesn't produce colored mana, not because Ghost Quarter is a bad card.

It might see play in T1 or T1.5

It'll never see play in T2

I dont see the point of kill a land u control and a land an opponent controls and letting your opponent get another land So what if it kills a dual land or some other special land all you accomplished was making yourself lose a land and letting your opponent get a semi crappier land then he had before big deal....

You obv don't know anything about 1.5 or t1. In 1.5 most decks run basics. Top teir decks like goblins, solidity, burn all runs basics. The ownly deck thats is top teir that runs no basics is threshold. Ask yourself why you you ever restrict this card when you can play 4x wasteland? Also 1.5 dosn;t have restrictions Smile Its not a bad card though, just a worse wasteland, i like it.
