some people play T2, some play T1. People play different formats. but only 1 is advertised. i would like to run a mini that anyformat can join. but the problem is that T1 descks will ruin T2 decks because of the cards they have access to. T1 decks will ruid T1.5 decks. T2 decks can ruin creature feature. This is my idea and my question:

If there was a mini that allowed you to join with a specific format (T1, 1.5, 1.x, T2, and anything other) how would you run it?

if i had a T2 deck how would you fix the game (handicap) vs. a T2 deck? what would the hadicap be? lets base it off of T2. T2 will start with 7 cards and 20 life. max hand size of 7. what would T1 start with? max hand size? highlander T1.. what # of cards should it start with? max hand size? life?

this will give the opprotunity for everyone possible to join.. except limited. but if i could include that what are the hanicaps? a mega tourney. i also need a name

suggestions are welcome. each post should have a suggestion for the format. and should have a handicap and REASONING for the handicap. the more people who post the better the format will be. nobody like to play a T2 vs. a T1 and lose.

i play T1.5 but not everyone plays 1.5. a 16 max had 8 ppl... but if people could play T3 decks i would sacrifiice a max hand size. maybe 5 max. and id let my opponent go first by default. suggestions welcome.

Thats very interesting idea, but it will need a lot of playtesting. T2 decks will need a huge advantage, something like extra turns, dont u think?

T2 will be the standard. it has no handicap. all other formats will based off of that. a better formay will have a negitive handicap.. like T1, and worse formats will have a positive handicap, like highlander

Another thought could be to have everyone in the tourney register one deck for each format, then each round you could randomly draw which format would be played. For instance, round one might be legacy, while round two might be block party.

They use a similiar idea to this in poker, when they play S.H.O.E./H.O.R.S.E.

I like allstars Idea. If you mean that it would be t2 vs. t2 and so on but randomly picked format. Another idea could just simply be a point system. For example purposes: if in t2>T1 the T2 player could gain 5 points where as T1>T2 would gain just one. so....
T2>T1: 5pts
T2>T1.5: 4 pts
T2>Extended: 3 pts.
T2>T2: 2 pts.

And I'm not going to go through the whol formula, but I think you all get the idea...Elaborations?

I like the idea to do it how they do it in the invitational. Each person brings a deck for each format and it gets randomly drawn which format's deck you play with. Seems like a fun way to make sure people are good at everything.
