And that is only first in a line of faults, WildCard.
I fully support ace's contention. Considering what the League does to cater to Apprentice users in order to make sure it comes to flips, treating people equally is the least one could expect. If trials are being run for 1700+ players, the only fair complement is to run trials for 1699- players. |
I agree with this 100% |

| 1700+ players already have more chances to go to the invitacional and winn it. Why are you giving them even more chances? This is a qualification for the most important tourney but by doing +1700 trials you are already making the qualifier restricted. The only good reason to make those trial is to also make trials for players with -1700. Also those trials must be the same number as the +1700. And for those saying that it is a reward or the "best" players they are forgetting that magic isn't just for the "elite" players. It's for everyone. And it's not a dumb number that determines if you are a good or bad player. You might have used decks made by yourself that didn't work and lost rating. Or you are just unlucky. And there are also those players that get to 1700 by just playing league games which are probably against friends that let them win. |

It's like this...
The invitational is just that: An invitational.
It's for good players. Why should we have trials for people that aren't good?
Then again, I don't see why the 1700+ members make such a big deal about my own point. Good players will win any trial. It doesn't matter how the playing field is restricted... whether it's 1700+ or normal, a good player will win.

I play 6-7 trials a week by the way. |

Dont you get a better rating faster when you beat a 1700+ player as a 1699- player?
Doesn't playing against good players make you a better player? Deck ideas, plays, "post game jibber". |

The point of the matter is that alot of good players could be around the 1600-1699 range, and they are being told that they are not good enough to play with the "best of the best".
Any punk can get to 1700+ (by cheating of course), but can we really say who is a good player just by looking at ratings.
It all comes down to any given day, what the fates hold for us is never kind nor logical, all we can do is draw one card at a time and hope to topdeck the might of oaks for the win.
Honestly, everyone who disagrees with the 1700+ only tournies are justified. We work hard, if not harder than most 1700+ players (who are afraid to play, god fear them losing their 1700 ranking so they can't play in the fascist tournies).
I suppose it all boils down to this, the owner of Magic-League gives us a free place to play, and if we don't like it then we don't have to play.
But honestly, as far as the Pro Tour arguement goes, yes, you Must be invited to the Pro Tour, but every qualifier is open to everyone, scrubs and Oliver Ruels alike.
Whatever comes of this, I still appreciate Magic-League for giving me a place to get better, and giving me a place to test my new ideas.
Thanks to everyone... |
