I would normally be trying some kind of U/R or U/G concoction, but this deck is working good so far. Blood Moon is the shiznit.

Heezy was really lucky only 2 people played sub optimal builds of the mono-red gruul beats it is more direct and faster in the quasi mirror. Please don't take this as arrogance I have played against this exact deck with Mono red Gruul over 20 times now and have only lost twice, but of course it might be the people piloting them not knowing how to play against it as not many people play it.

I'm actually tesitng the deck with the following changes:

-4 Schorhed Rusalka
+4 Wild Cantor

-4 Dryad Sphisticate
+2 Tin-Street Holligan
+2 Silhana Ledgewalker

The cantor is for speed with a turn 2 burning tree shaman or something along the lines of attack it play mauler and sac for kird ape + it also helps as a color fixer It is pretty bad lategame though which is why I am asking for opinions the other 2 is tin street helps take out jitte and etc and silhana is good with cloak + can't be targeted. Opinions?

Ledgewalker + cloak > Dryad + cloak
Ledgewalker without cloak <<< Dryad without cloak

A 1/1 for 2 mana, though it is also an option, is not very aggresive and if you don't get a cloak or something vs it, it won't be worth it. Also nonbasic landwalk > "flying"... Dryad is practically unblockable 90% of the time, but ledgewalker will get blocked by meloku/dragons etc. in the middle/late game vs control.

ad. Wild cantor: I wouldn't cut it for rusalka... Rusalka is very good in helping to finish off your opponent and in saccing creatures so opponent doesn't get jitte counters, life from helix etc. If you still want mana acceleration though, play Llanowar Elves.

bunch of morons or what? it did play 12/13 other games before getting to the top8. in this deck dryad >>> ledgewalker, the only time it might be better is in a deck with a LOAD of pumps. scorched rusalka should not be taken out idiot, it can deal 5+ damage a game.

the bug IS better than the slum, thats not to say the slum is bad, its just its only useful against aggro.

the only changes id suggest are flames SB and shock MD, cos flames is really more of a metagame card, we're not overrun with fetters and heirachs yet. and maybe drop 1 rusalka, for the same reason (dodging fetters). maybe a miren for a skaarg, for the mirror mainly, and RDW i guess

solifuge better vs control, slum better vs aggro
the field in pt was mainly control, or was expected, so solifuge is better option
The solifuge really sucks vs things like ravenous rats
WIth the more agro out there now cuz of those decks wining the pro tour, the question is kind of open again
flames is still good, better than shock imo, cuz faith fetters or hierarch really wreck this deck. A 8 life diffrence is HUGE. PLus it serves as a finnisher vs anything, and vs control it's always good.

as into ledgewalker-dryad, sigh
did any deck with ledgewalker did good?

No, you definitly do NOT want to take out the scorched ruluskas

1. They prevent counters from getting on Jitte
2. They can win you the game with that last bit of damage
3. The deck is fast enough as it is

Sincerely,

the flames thing was a joke right? 4 damage in one card, stop helix fetters and hierachs, JITTE, occasional firemane angel(s) as well... very strong whether opponent gains life or not
