Rabbit dropped the ball on this so im picking it up. Entries for Round 1 will be a week and a half long

The rules are as follows
Your deck is composed of 3 cards, all of which start in your hand.
You have no library (technically, the library exists, but starts at 0 cards) and no sideboard (Wishes fetch nothing).
Random effects always go in your opponent's favour.
You can see your opponent's hand, so you can always make the best possible play.
You don't lose as a result of not being able to draw a card.
You will play each opponent twice, once going first, once going second.
For each win, you score 3.
For each draw, you score 1.
For each loss, you get nothing.
Other than the aforementioned, EVERYTHING IS HANDLED EXACTLY LIKE A REAL GAME OF MAGIC!
Matches Will Be Simulated By Me On The Weekend
Entries Are Open Monday Through Friday US Pacific Time, Saturday Morning I Will Have The List Of Decks And Simulate And Have Results Posted On Monday.
Remember, it is important for your deck to include a way to cast your cards! (Lands, artifact mana, pitch cards, etc.)

BANNED CARDS:
Unhinged
Unglued
Ante Cards
Any card that forces your opponent to discard more than 1 card a turn.
Any non-mass-produced card (1996 World Champion, etc.)

Strip Mine
Wasteland
Glacial Chasm
Blackmail
Coercion

How do you decide when a player wins?

How do you decide when it is a draw?

i have thought of that, sort of. there were a few deck possibilities in my head where it all depends on who attacks first, and if someone blocks. like if either player attacked the other would block and the player who blocked would win. basically a damage race. in that case it would be a draw. i have a few friends i can talk this over with. if there is a situation that comes up that i cannot decide then ill ask them. in the first attempt to run this my 3 cards vs. my opponents 3 cards it was obv who would win both games. i hope it is like that. if not there will be mulitple inputs of the same game. lets just get through round 1 to see how this will work out. saturday the 18th i will run the games. and sunday night i will post winners, decklists. and i will make a new thread called round 2 with the new bannings. LATERS!

So say the winning deck was Swamp, X, X... Would Swamp be banned next time?
Oh, BTW I'm gonna win.
Also why are Coercion and Abandon Hope Banned? Am I missing something, how can you cast either and still have a threat left to win the game with.
Edit Oh well I guess with abandon hope you could use it to madness out a Rootwala.

I think I picked the best deck, who knows

edit: I made a gauntlet and tested it. It was sweet. There were three decks that were terrible (Black Lotus, Black Lotus, Rorix, lol) and four that were pretty good.

black lotus reads:

TAP, Sacrifice Black Lotus: Add three mana of any one color to your mana pool.

so 3 green or 3 red, no chance to channel fireball.

Let us say Black Lotus read: T, Sacrifice: Add three mana of any combination of colors to your mana pool.

You play Black Lotus and sac it for RGG.

You pay GG for Channel.

You pay 20 life and ... you die. Game over.

You pay 19 life and Fireball for ... 19. You still lose.

Channel-Fireball only works if you have a land with the Black Lotus for that 20th point of damage.

the obvious card that will be banned after round 1 is black lotus, after that things get more interesting... I don't believe that any of the "normal" combos will work in this format - ie, bombardment/renewal, timevault/flame fusilade, and illusions/donate all don't work because of mana issues. Perhaps someone else can come up with a different instant-win combo - who knows. In a way, all the decks will be combo decks, that just take a bit of time to win. Another thing to note - it is easy to design a deck that will draw just about every match. For example, black lotus/hymn to tourach/sarcomancy will win just about every game where it goes first, but i have a hard time believeing it will win much going second. The hard thing will be making a deck that can win going first or second.
