True.

The deck that posted the best and most consistent results was Ghost Dad (Tallowisp), with 4 of the 5 making day 2 and the fifth guy only losing out on tie-breakers, I believe.

Hey, I know I'm biased, but i've been playing URzatron since long before the Honolulu event. I think Osyp's deck was incredibly sub-par for what izzetron can do. I run Ryusei instead of Meloku because it can't be killed by Zoo and other aggro without having their board nuked. Also, remand does not belong in URzatron, it's horrible. You need a hard counter vs. control and also Zoo in particular, because it can just lay the kird ape a second time in the same turn after remand. Does anyone else think that the representation of URzatron was really disappointing. An optimal URzatron build should have stomped that Zoo matchup. Tendo doesn't belong in the deck either with only 2 colors. Thoughts?

Obviously, he was only playing tendo because of the great synergy with meloku, if you cut the melokus you can consider cutting the tendos aswell.
So yes, tendo belongs in this deck as long as it is running meloku.

omg, I am so sick of ppl saying that Owling Mine is a bad deck

I'll listen to Antoine Ruel, who even said that after testing he GAVE UP on the aggro match

it was so unwinnable that he GAVE UP on boarding for it, that tells me that in a metagame that will be made up by mostly aggro, (And believe me, it will due to the fact that 1 and 2 were very heavy agro) owl will cease to exist, well maybe not cease to exist, but its winning percentage will

look at the lists, look how many control decks there were, all owl had to do was avoid zoo rd 1-4 and they would be hosted to numerous byes.

look at the decklists and you'll see just how much control decks there were, in the end the sheer number of white based control decks couldnt even slot 1 person, most likely because they fell to Owl, craig jones lucksackery or huberholz's techy RG build

overall, ill listen to antoine ruel over any m-l scrub, if he says that aggro is unwinnable, then most likely, it is

Owl decks ARE control decks.
The actual deck has said to originate on starcity games as a monoblue fun deck, and then went to red and became a tournament quality control deck.

I had a league game yesterday with my Owling Mine deck in which the first game went like this.
Turn 1:
Steam Vents
Turn 2:
Island, Owl Opponent takes 4 damage.
Turn 3:
island, Howling mine, 4 more damage
Turn 4:
Steam vents, Gigadrowse, Exhaustion, 4 more damage
Turn 5:
Mikokoro, transmuted muddle for owl, ebony owl, 8 damage.

Game. My opponenet played [wurd] and never dropped anything but a land.
This is not always how it goes, but the deck works on lockdown. Throw in some pyroclasm and even weenie will lose to it.

im playing owl too, can i see your list? you mentioned the transmute and caught my eye, mind sharing?

problem with zoo is the manabase... I dont think you can have success with it consistently because of how insanely fucked it is.
