Well which is Better......
1G Dyrad Sophisticate:
2/1 Body
Can't be blocked as long as opponent controls a non-basic land (90% of t2 decks run nonbasic lands)
1G Silhana Ledgewalker:
1/1 Body
Can only be blocked by fliers (Not too many in current t2)
Can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control (WOW unstopable with a cloak or jitte)
My Vote goes to ledgewalker......
What do you guys think? And Why? |

| Its all about the ledgewalker. Its untargetability(in a format FULL of removal) and just evading ground stompers make it superior. It too can stand unblockable in many matchups. |

While the Sophisticate is a 2/1 for 1G and the Ledgewalker only a 1/1 for 1G, the "can't be the target of opponent's spells or abilities" makes the Ledgewalker so much better. Putrefy, Mortify, Last Gasp, Frostling, etc can't kill the Ledgewalker but is fair game for the Sophisticate. And Arashi (an already played green card) helps the Ledgwalker go through untouched. Combine it with a Jitte/Cloak, and its pretty much insane.
I tried making a mono green stompy deck running the Sophisticates and Ledewalkers with Jitte/Cloak, but its missing something. Not exactly sure what (went 2-2 with it and gave up on it). |

there are more decks with non-basic lands then decks with non-flyers so I should run Dyrad Sophisticate, but he can be targeted and that is a weaknes ...

| This is a really tough choice, but I thought about it for a few minutes, and I realized that Ledgewalker is the best choice. Here's why: Dryad Sophisticate is basically unblockable, and will most likely get in 2-4 damage in a game, and then will be killed; Silhana Ledgewalker is basically unblockable, and will most likely get in 6 damage or more in a game and won't be killed. Considering that they both cost 1G, I would go for the Ledgewalker, although you may want to run a Sophisticate in the board to switch with Ledgewalker if they're running a ton of flyers. |

Well it all depends on the deck your playing. If your just talking about R/G beats sort of thing, Dryad Sophisticate all the way. It hits twice as hard, and is unblockable. Its only weakness is that it can be hit by removel, now this is usually not a big deal at all. Almost no removel is nota threat to it. Stuff like Mortify, or Putrefy arnt a big deal. If they kill your Dryad Sophisticate, thats a mortify not going to your Burning Tree Shaman. Both get hit by the removel you have to worry about ie WoG. Its only real downside is that it can be darkblasted, or shocked. Darkblast hardly see's any play, and its a shock not going to other creatures. I think Dryad Sophisticate is almost strickly better.
Thoughts, dissagreements? |

| Ledgewalker simply because the untargetability clause is only for your opponents and not you. Cloak + Ledgewalker is nasty. |

ledgewalker rules...with cloak, jitte, anything...in t2 only cruel edict, wrath and pyroclasm can beat him but if he has a cloak or there are more creatures in ur side is only wrath...
Dryad is also good...but she can be target! |

It all depends on your meta. For instance, in my FNMs, the only creatures I see fly(Keiga, Meloku and company...) but non-basic lands are very present (duh). So for me, the Sophisticate is the obvious choice unless I play tons of flying removal.
Overall I think the Ledgewalker is less agressive but a tougher creature than the Sophisticate. If you really want to play Sophisticate you should also run Priviledged Position MD.
Well that's it, the_guy_123 signing off... |

| Well, it really just depends on what deck they're going in, and the synergies that both cards have with each other. I have a Gruul beats I've been working on and initially I played Dryad Sophisticate and Scab-Clan Mauler four times at the 2 Drop spots, and I took out Sophisticate and ran Silhana Ledgewalker for a bit. Then I tried taking out the Scab-Clans and putting the Sophisticates back in, but I feel that the one more point of toughness the sophisticate has puts it in my deck over the Ledgewalker, so I took out the Ledgewalkers and put the Scab-Clan's back in. I must say that if you are running Jitte AND cloak then definitely run Ledgewalker, however I am only running cloak so I like going with the Sophisticate. And whoever said you have to run Priveledged Positition if you run Sophisticate maindeck is an idiot, I just have to say that... |

| I would never ever play a 1/1 for two mana for beatdown purposes, Dryad is by far the better one. |

lets look at this with the RG perspective
sophisticate is a 2/1 for 2
ledgewalker is a 1/1 for 2
combining no other cards, sophisticate is much better for beatdown purposes
ledgewalker is terrible sans jitte or cloak
if the opponent does char/putrefy/mortify away the sophisticate, thats 1 less for rumbling slum
sophisticate wins |

| It really does depend on what else you have in your deck I guess. If you run jittes and cloaks ledgewalker otherewise dryad. |
